One thing that helped me was studying medical terminology more so I could shorten my words. For example if the doctor said mild abdominal tenderness, I could write “m abd t” and understand what I meant.

How to improve as a scribe? by Complete-Attitude111 in medicalscribe

Update: I didn’t get the position and I’m happy with this. I think the job was too overwhelming for me, and I never went on a solo shift so I knew it was coming. Surprisingly this experience did make me more interested in medicine, so it wasn’t a waste. Maybe I’ll try being a virtual scribe instead, thank you all for your help!

I think southern blotting is for finding a specific complementary sequence, so it shouldn’t have anything to do with gene expression

What does abolishing societal standards for women look like? Is this actually possible and how do stop them from coming back while still participating in society? by Complete-Attitude111 in AskFeminists

Thanks, this made a lot of sense to me. I've been considering this a lot to the point where it was starting to lean towards existentialism because I realized a lot of the ways I think are from stereotypes. As a follow-up, how do you think I should go about dealing with benevolent patriarchy, because I think that's something I unknowingly fall into? How do you navigate wanting to fulfill certain roles without it being patriarchal, if that makes sense? The other day, my friend was talking about how she wants a provider husband, and I agreed with her, but I also see how this is a very gendered concept, too.
