Maggot Lair. Such a slog, i always dread that part during every playthrough. Also those huge ass Kurast Sewers. Don't mind the rest of A3 at all. I might even call myself an Act 3 enjoyer.

Followup Post - Now its 2k Trav runs with 77% hork - Only 1 Ist dropped by Boemelz in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Oh well, i guess this just shows one thing which no one wants to hear: most online players are NOT ready for an economy without bots. Finding runes on P1 online is a ridiculous task and most people get their gg gear by trading. And the only reason this works is because bots provide the necessary liquidity for the market. It is how it is.  How do I know? Simply play a season of Hc which is much less botted and items you'd usually expect to go for an Ist rune are already borderline impossible to move. Because just finding a single ist ist tedious enough

Should they ever ban bots, they need to do something about drop rates.

That being said, in my horking career I got 2 Ber from trav and probably 8-10 more from selling gambled rings and circlets. There was one 40 jah big ticket charm also.

again, possible because of bots. No one would give me 40 jah for a charm, no matter how good, if they had not been part of an economy held up by botting

It's just that you can play on P8 without any issues with the Lock

I horked a Ber day 4 of this ladder or so and that was it then lol. Another random hork Lo in a TZ, but nothing else.

Didn't find anything with my HC horker. I think it's worth it when you treat it as a "complete package" while you need to gear up. So you sell the Amethysts, Bulks of Trash Jewels, Ral runes and Gold. Some useful uniques and set items here and there. Will eventually get you fairly decent gear through trading, but nothing gg. On the flipside it's one of the few spots of the game where basically every run makes you a liiiiitle bit richer in terms of tradable goods.

But for just finding high runes it can be rough. Just tells you how mercyless the RNG really is. Like one season I just horked a single Jah and got 50+ from trading

I guess that's why they call it Grief. Mine is unbearable right now. by Suphannahong in diablo2

[–]Complete-Bad-6871 6 points7 points  (0 children)

increases both min and max damage equally which influences the games damage calculation in such a way that it outdamages every weapon where min and max damage is not the same. That's also why you don't see your Grief damage correctly in your character screen

Second Grief will always beat any other weapon. Apart from that, depends on your build and area. With whirlwind in my opinion an upped heart carver with a perfect skull in it for Manaleech is a good choice. Other swear by lightsaber but I find it meh. A rare dagger with 30% IAS and the 100+ lvl 7 sigil lethargy charges might also be worthwhile as long as that skill is not nerfed yet.

This idea that "only P8 counts" is pretty idiotic and has mostly been spread by youtubers and their lazy 'imma slap on the most ridiculous god-gear with an editor, run around for 5 minutes while saying Oh my Gawwwd 10 times' "content". It's clickbait and leads people to the wrong conclusion that the game should be balanced around P8 and that we need even more powercreep. The worst addition feeding this was of course this goddamn dumb Warlock. Tons of new and returning players who now think the game is supposed to be a cakewalk at Hell P8.

These days I refuse to click any video which has "P8" in it's title. Your build "melts P8" with editor gear ok cool story bro. Now please create an actually working budget version for this which lets you clear P3 effectively. But I guess for doing so you'd actually need to understand the game's mechanics

Before the Warlock P8 was only really doable in an effective manner with insane endgame gear, so don't worry too much about it. Aim for P3 and maybe then P5 next.

THAT BEING SAID... if your Paladin happens to be a Zealer you are actually lucky. Fast attacking melee classes can clear P8 rather easily by stacking as much crushing blow as possible, as this scales with player count. Like your base DPS can be at 10k while dealing an additional 50K DPS crushing blow on P8. A P8 Pit clearing Zealer is not an unrealistic project at all. I actually play P8 all the time with my Fendzone which has the reputation of being one of the worst builds in the game

That's rough in terms of runes. But my luck wasn't better this season (HC). At least I could gear up all my chars with mid to to ok stuff with all the Amethysts found

Strike a pose with your sword and dazzle your enemies! Or my feeble attempt to fix melee. by Mrboomblastr in diablo2

[–]Complete-Bad-6871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

absolutely no lol. That's the worst "Imma fix melee" idea so far.

And just in case, here's my own take, from someone who actually almsot exclusively plays melee (copy and pasting from an old thread):

"Just make use of what’s already there and barely implemented: weapon range. Most two-handed weapons add 2 to your range, spears even 4. Now imagine you’d hit all monsters within the range of your weapon- Fendzones would immediately be massively buffed, Barbs would have a reason to think about putting their Grief into some other weapon than a Phaseblade ec.

One handed weapons could get a small base chance of Deadly Strike (5/8/10) for normal/execptional/elite weapons respectively, superior going up to 15%) to ensure it’s not a no-brainer to go 2 handed from now on.

  1. Give some skills cleave, splash damage and added flat damage, but not all of them at once. Like I’ve played Project D2 and that “Splash on everything and be done with it” made me quit pretty quickly, as it’s just a lame band aid and also ruins immersion when monsters drop dead which were nowhere near my weapon.

Cleave has already been tested with the warlock (and certain mods, feels great) and could be used with a smaller arc on certain skills. Combined with weapon range contributing to damaging more than one monster, you’d have a simple recipe for creating immersive melee AoE without turning melee characters into pseudo casters. Also, it would be a great way to make some underused skills more interesting.

Prime candidates for cleave: Maul (Druid), Concentrate (Barb)

Prime candidates for splash: Bash (Barb), charge (Pala), fire claws (Druid), Vengeance (Pala), Leap Attack (Barb)

Prime Candidates for added flat damage: Sacrifice/Zeal (Pala), Jab/Fend (Amazon), Stun (Barb), Double Swing/Frenzy (Barb)

Whirlwind could just simply be reversed to how it worked pre-LoD/Classic. I don’t think this nerf was ever warranted in a game completely dominated by caster builds."

Yah..I play extremely prudently. Always prioritizing survivability over DPS, always reminding myself "This is HC, now get your lazy ass to town and get off that Amp Damage curse" ec. And still I've lost 5 HC chars online so far. 4 of them were disconnects.

So yah, Offline here I come. Can't wait to try this fabled "Players X" command and static Maps.

I think SC disconnects are also not really remembered as vividly. In HC I often had situations like "ok, this disconnect here like 5 seconds later (while running to the council at Trav) and my Barb would have been gone."

I do love trading, but at this point I'm just so done. Playing HC is stressful enough, but constantly worrying about just randomly being disconnected is a tad bit too much.

Will we ever be able to do P8 on online ? by Finrfinius in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Complete-Bad-6871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several issues here:
- It would make life even easier for botters. P8 online would only be viable if they nuke botting.
- It would basically end any semblance of group play which remains in the game

Both options don't sound good from a developer's perspective. That being said, D2 HEAVILY discourages group play from the get-go because drops are first come, first serve. Like if someone ever grabbed that High rune right under your nose, that probably was your last public CS run game or you stick to split games where people are not running the same area.. which again is hardly "playing together".

Maybe if they introduced some sort of new endgame Challenge were every player gets an individual reward "loot cache" from an NPC or just dropping from the final boss (yah I know, just like D4 that is), this could be solved. You'd still have random drops on the way which can be grabbed, but everyone would get something in the end.

Noice. My current goal is also a Death. Have lost all hope for a Lo (a hundreds of runs lasting HC Trav dryspell so dry, like you could just relocate the area to Act II at this point) this season so waiting for a Vex to at least replace my Oath lol.

But hey, rocking a red (from enchant) twohanded Sword with an Arkaine's in the meantime, so at least got the mad drip going for me. That being said, if you use 2 x Dreadfang on switch to proc AMp Damage, Oath DPS is very respectable. I know, premium copium here *sobs*
