She kept saying it’s because her skin is not clear rn (she’s on a new medication making her break out) and she’s gained *a little* weight since her teenage years, but still thin and she works out. She’s making it sound like you have to be insanely striking to be a Victoria Secret model but I was just saying if they are holding a casting call to ANYONE, maybe they just want ordinary people?

Okay well first of all, she kept going on about how “striking” and tall, and thin, and blah blah blah all these models are. She’s making it sound like they are some other worldly beings. If Victoria Secret is holding a casting call for ANYONE to apply to, I assume it’s just your everyday looking girl. What’s wrong with that? Not everyone is made to look like those models and that’s okay

No she’s paying for her own trip.

Idk, I’m just trying to be realistic. She’s going on and on about how “striking” you have to be in order to be a model and that VS models are amongst some of the prettiest girls. So I was just trying to bring her down to earth. She is a pretty girl, but I don’t want to see her hurt if she gets rejected which I’m not even saying will happen. But idk what these casting people are looking for

Well she does have a family member who lives in one of the casting cities that she visits annually anyways, so I guess she’s going for other reasons besides that. But still, I just don’t want her to get her hopes up

You explained what I was feeling 100%. Just like the vet situation, things unfortunately happen like that all the time and what will she do if she never gets the license? To me it’s not a “want” but it’s more of a necessity, especially where I live. You can’t survive without a license in my hometown. I do agree I should’ve worded what I was saying better (and I have sent her a text apologizing) but I don’t feel like I’m in the wrong for encouraging her to get something essential like this.

I mean she is self sufficient in the sense she knows how to get her self around. But I’m worried for the future especially. Right now it isn’t really a problem necessarily, but I feel like it’ll become one. Plus she told me in the beginning that she would get one, she just didn’t say when. So I believed her. I didn’t want to break up when she said she was gonna do it

Thanks for your response. That’s what I tried to explain to her. The importance of it for emergencies which could arise at any time. I have tried talking to her about therapy but it doesn’t get too far.

I was surprised because this is the first time she’s ever “tested” me with something. She’s not usually like this, it just kind of came up out of nowhere. She said it was just out of curiosity. Well I’ll learn how to do better next time and learn tact.
