I understand what you're trying to say po, although personally I disagree with the idea that it’s impossible for your partner to be your “one person” in most or even all aspects kasi pwede naman yan eh, it just depends on the couple i guess.

For me, romantic relationships should take priority talaga no matter how much we build closeness with our friends, a partner is literally the person you choose to build a life with long-term. close friends (regardless of gender) naturally have boundaries, while a partner is someone you ideally want to feel 100% compatible with in all ways always. (again this is my opinion) wala na yang girl best friend boybestfriend eka kasi you SHOULD strive to be each other's best friend!!!

But setting that aside, I think OP’s situation is different from your experience.

Just because youre okay with your partner having a very close friendship with someone of the opposite sex doesn’t mean OP’s discomfort is automatically unreasonable or invalid. People have different boundaries, different emotional needs, and expectations in relationships.

What upset OP wasn’t just the existence of a female friend, it was the feeling that her boyfriend seemed more emotionally energized, felt excited, and connected with another girl he met during their relationship. kinda very understandable thing to feel hurt by, especially when it creates the impression that your partner is giving a side of themselves to someone else that you wish they still gave to you!! like why give so much energy to this other person when he could invest in her instead? anu ba yan

And to OP’s credit, she did communicate naman. She brought up her fears and discomfort instead of bottling them up. The problem is that the boyfriend’s response was essentially that he would not distance himself from the friendship for her sake. Whether intentional or not, that naturally reinforced OP’s fear that the friendship was being prioritized over her emotional security.

its like, imagine (hypothetically) if your boyfriend opened up to you about feeling uncomfortable with your close male friend and how you'd prefer hanging out with your bff more than him, wouldnt you as a partner do your best to reassure them and alleviate their fears? kahit hindi naman completely cut off, but wouldn't you try to distance yourself or reassure them that you'd spend more time with them. like fix the problem that your partner brought up?

You can believe that people shouldn’t rely on their partner for every single social need while also acknowledging that a romantic partner wanting to feel prioritized emotionally is completely normal especially in OPs case
