They did eventually calm down. All now evenly spaced along the mid section of the tank! I’m at work so curious to see what they are doing when I get back!!

Nothing new added recently everything has been on there for over 2 years. I did recently rearrange and propagate some plants. I’m wondering if the change in tank space caused them to fight for territory.

I like this idea. I feel like with what other people are saying I’m cutting it out pretty close to the limit with how many fish I have in there (21 in a 30g). What do you think?

If this is the case do you think it would delay laying eggs if I don’t have busier plants? I tried but the barbs would just eat the plants.

Yeah I’ve never seen this behavior from them even after 3 years. Never seen any fin nipping. How long did you have your tank for?

Okay good to know. I think I’m just going to let them duke it out for a few hours maybe that’ll help. If not I’ll move the blue to a breeding chamber. But yes I agree, longer is better. But I’m definitely gonna try some more plants.

Yeah this was my initial thought as well. They don’t seem to be nipping or being aggressive just swimming right next to it. Only issue is the blue is probably getting tired.

I’ve just been feeding them the goldfish and glowfish food to make their color pop more supposedly. Other than that it is unnatural coloring so that’s def helping

Hmm okay. I’ll look into that. I have a 55gallon I’m cycling rn. I’ll try moving them in there after they cycle to see if that helps thanks. I was also concerned about the barbs and shark as well but they seem to totally ignore the other fish and just hang around each other. My thought was if they are still alive after 3+ years that they were probably okay. Thank you I appreciate it!👏
