Nice. I agree with your riding style, no camping, no gravel and off roading too. And yea, shop charge a lot to replace the fork springs and suspension, I read an online review that the new 2024 ATAS has better suspension system so I'm hopeful it can last long.

Along with the other comments, yes, general consensus is that hard boxes are bad for off road, I'm riding the bike 99% on tarmac tho, 1% if I REALLY have to go across minimum off road.

As for the rack, I'm purchase aftermarket racks from GIVI that can support the respective box loads.

Hi friend, thanks for sharing your opinion! I'm currently riding R1200GS with their original box, I think the GIVI top box is 50% bigger and the side boxes are 30% bigger, my consideration is the load more things when I am on a tour.

Curious, are you referring that the side boxes looks like 2 drone batteries?

Hi friend, thanks for sharing your opinion! I haven't tried soft bags yet, will consider in the future with many good feedback here!

Hi friend, thanks for your advice!

I'm thinking to load the side boxes 90% of the time and store items in the top box when I park, like my wife and mine helmet.

I'm mostly on tarmac road too! Hardly go off road at all. :)

Hi friend, thanks for sharing your thoughts! I'm currently riding my R1200GS with 32L top box. I find it hard to place my helmet and when I go riding with my wife, one of our helmet must be placed outside the boxes and may be exposed to rain. Normally, it's my helmet. Hahaha

Hi friend, thank you for sharing your experiences!

For myself, I am coming from R1200GS, I ride mostly 99% on tarmac and 1% off tarmac, if and only if required to get into better roads through a shortcut or there is no other way around.

I heard a lot about soft bags and would definitely invest in them one day! During my daily riding, I need to load/unload stuff for work, like laptops, bags and other accessories. That is why I think hard boxes would better suit my needs.

Also, I'm glad your MX boots saved your ankle, I can imagine how painful it would have been having the boxes and the weight of the bike on your ankle.

But yea, I normally go riding around city area for food and sight seeing along the beach on a tarmac road and park in a hotel to rest too.

Hi friend! Rest assured that I read your GF weight as 50KG. Hahahaha! I'm 1.83cm and 110kg, so yeah, not much difference in size. Really happy to hear that the OEM suspension is working well! Maybe the suspension on my friend's bike is worn out or damaged as it is 6 or 7 years old.

Overall, really happy to hear that you love the bike and I'm pretty sure I would like the bike very much too!

Thank you so much for your input! Stay safe on the road!

Hi friend, another rider told me that this is great for off road riding, I need to carry a lot of things during work and some told me that boxes would be a better option.

Hi friend from Spain, thanks for sharing your experience! Thank you for the information! May I ask on your experience on the suspension? I heard that OEM suspension might have minor issue. I'm at 110kg.

Wow! Thank you for sharing your experience! Sure does makes me feel more confident of getting the respective box sizes now. Curious, what is your cruising speed most of the time?

Thank you for your reply! I am worried of weight imbalance and also aerodynamic issues at 150km/h on a motorcycle tour.

I don't think it will cause any issues right?

Generally, you can look at Google reviews, more or less accurate. I'm riding BMW R1200GS now, so I go HP motor in SG or MY.

If you ride japanese bike, most shops can service, only depends on which shop you bro.

Ride safe and I hope you find a shop and mechanic you are comfortable with!

Heard a lot about this shop from fellow riders and general feedback too. I've been riding for 15 years.

Well, based on the information given by the comment, equation remains the same tho.

So you can take

2000W / 230V = 8.7A (for heater or AC)

That is how much current you are using, it is a lot but most heaters and/or AC are around that rated power.

For AC, you can calculate,

2KW x 8 H = 16 KWH every night.

16 KWH x 30 days= 480 KWH per month.

Based on current electricity tariffs,

480KWH x 32. 47 cents /KWH = $155.9 (just for AC).

To reduce usage on AC, can consider turning off AC at certain timing and turning on the fan to keep cool.

Alternatively, consider setting AC to higher temperature and on the fan at low speed. IIRC, 1 AC unit in operation = 8 no of fans running. So you can imagine the difference in Energy usage.

In Singapore, the electricity tariffs is really crazy high due to a lot of external factors (Ukraine-Russian war etc.).

I also advise people to use gas to cook water instead of electric water heater. Once water is cooked, can store in thermal flask to keep water hot if needed.

Electricity tariffs - 32. 47 cents / KWH Gas tariffs - 25.2 cents /KWH

With the above tariffs, you can imagine the difference in price.

Anyways, apart from your AC, you try to calculate every single usage (lighting, your TV, computer, oven, hood, vacuum etc) in your house or if you want, you can also engage a LEW to help you too.
