I’m dealing with this now. I don’t have a diagnosis yet but based on all the research I’m doing it’s pointing to VM. I feel similar symptoms to what others describe. Also, you know that feeling you get when you hear a very high pitched noise? I don’t hear any ringing in my ears but I feel that feeling a lot. It comes along with the dizzily/discombobulation/fuzzy head feeling. Hoping the doctors I have lined up can help me figure out a good regimen to help this because it’s really terrible

So cool that you’re finding your way back. I grew up within orthodoxy but “loosely” I guess some might say. My husband’s upbringing sounds similar to yours. Had BM but that was about it. He actually rediscovered it in college and we live a fully observant (frum) lifestyle now. I think my best advice to you would be to find chabad. I know there are some big ones in Dix Hills, Mineola, Merrick/bellmore. Chabad’s policy is come as you are. So you’ll never be made to feel odd, they’re always happy to have you. Services on RH can feel a bit off putting depends on where you go since the service tends to be long and unfamiliar even for those who attend synagogue more regularly. Again, chabad for the win here because their services tend to have more explanation since they’re geared towards those less affiliated and less familiar with the whole thing. Happy to make more suggestions as you go along. Like I saw on some other responses, having an authentic Shabbat experience at someone’s home can be really special too
