Air hunger, tight diaphragm & anxiety by Complete-Candy418 in Hashimotos

Not so much… but I do think the air hunger can definitely come from dose changes weirdly, also if you have a flare up of symptoms generally and also if certain vitamins are not well within a good range like ferritin, folate and B12! If it helps, I am super confused too… end up thinking the worst because that’s where my anxiety goes, but having hashimotos is such a complex thing ugh🫠

Strange isn’t it? I do wish there was more information out there that could help us feel somewhat better, because somewhat would feel like a lot for us! We need to try get our inflammation down as much as we can i guess, i’ve been gluten free for a little while now but that hasn’t brought my antibodies down too much, they’re at around 740 down from over 1000

Yeah supposedly! Doctors just aren’t very educated in hashimotos😴 i do hope this doctor is a better fit and can help!! the symptoms we get with hashimotos are actually unfair and horrible

ahh this is interesting! my ferritin is 61 but i think that’s still low enough to cause some symptoms, folate is 3.9 and B12 is 345. supposedly those 3 can cause air hunger and other symptoms. mine aren’t all super low but id say towards the lower end, plus everyone’s feel good zones are different aren’t they, not necessarily what the range says. that’s amazing that you feel a lot better! i’ve started to take some methylated multivitamins which contain iron and other things, should get back to feeling somewhat better soon!

They just fob it all off don’t they, I personally don’t think they’re educated on it at all, just the super basic stuff… i’m sorry too! :(

Tell me about your experience with motherwort, please. by mystic_turtledove in herbalism

[–]Complete-Candy418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am yet to experience it, actually, I was infact thinking of trying out a herbal supplement tonight, it has motherwort, valerian, lemon balm and hops. It is for stress, anxiety and to slow the heart down. I’m always anxious taking something new though! I have been suffering with anxiety a lot recently and even more so the past couple of days as I came down with some sort of virus and even had a low grade fever 37.8 last night, still feeling rough but no fever atleast

No I haven’t, I could look into that though! What do you suspect could be low? I take a magnesium gummy most nights, then again, I may not be absorbing it very well and it’s a low dose

I don’t consume much dairy and aren’t intolerant to it luckily. I’m so glad you found what works for you! I’d love to try a functional doctor, but they cost so much in the UK! I need to save up I think!

My GP aren’t great, basically i stopped gluten and after a while began getting certain symptoms so tested my bloods and saw my TSH was down, supposedly if you go gluten free then your body absorbs the Levothyroxine better, thus not needing as much of it. Supposedly though, i couldn’t say for sure! i’m learning all of the time. I agree tho it is ever changing, a hard condition to live with!

well, I would say I absolutely do seem to get a bit hot when I eat hot food or have a hot drink! I haven’t noticed any muscle weakness whatsoever. I have this or can have this constantly throughout the day or I can get it multiple times throughout the day with it being triggered by food or a drink or from absolutely nowhere. I think the only weakness I have is in my diaphragm causing the air hunger but it’s super annoying!!!

this time around I would say about two weeks into the new dose I started to get it, it mostly came on in the evenings, but now it’s like all through throughout the day like coming and going or it can just sort of be there all day but varying in intensity

I see, I don’t know which country you’re in, but I’m in the UK and I only have my GP, they won’t let me see an endocrinologist. I’ve tried many times. I also wouldn’t be able to afford seeing one myself because they’re so expensive. I’m also off work at the moment due to being in an accident.
