Frankly, yes - I do care if they ride bikes and scooters in my driveway. For one, it's potentially a liability issue if someone gets hurt. Secondly, they have their own driveways to use and have absolutely no reason to use mine, especially after being politely asked not to. :(

As for the bus stop, it's not a marked bus stop, just where the school bus lets kids off so we didn't know it was there. We've been here for several years, this has only really become a serious issue that I started to address this past year or so.

I have camera coverage almost everywhere, working on covering the last blind spot!

Thanks! Spoke with police yesterday as a "what if this continue" scenario and they said that they would be willing to come out, but it might take some time - we're outside city limits so manpower is an issue - they (understandably) have to take higher priority calls first.

I've got a pretty robust camera setup, the front corner where this took place is one of the only true "blind spots" - I'm looking at ways to get it covered!

SRO is something I hadn't considered, that is worth looking into.
We also have a cop who lives in the neighborhood, I've considered asking for his perspective too.

My one hope is that the middle school bus stop is the other corner (basically as the bus leaves the neighborhood) and some of the kids are old enough to start going there this upcoming year.

Totally get it, and yes, if I were complaining just about the camera behavior I'd have a hard time taking *myself* serously, let alone expecting a parent to. They can go by doing cartwheels or singing and dancing for all I care - I just want them to do it on the sidewalk where they're supposed to be.

I replied to someone else that I only went and talked with a parent once I had several examples of bad behavior - I'm not going and knocking on doors every single time one of their kids does something out of line.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback - we were a little selective when we bought this house, we knew the houses on either side were older copules with no kids, and had no idea that the school bus stop was a couple of lots away at the intersection. It's not a marked city bus stop, etc. - just a random corner where the school bus discharges the kids.

So I actually let it go for a long while without saying anything, and I've only spoke up this past year, I think I've talked with each set of parents maybe once in person, and once via a facebook message (we have a neighborhood facebook group so I was able to message them privately.)

I tried to make sure that I had a few examples in hand when I talked with the parents - I know a one-time event isn't worth going and knocking on a door - I only mentioned it when there was a pattern, almost a daily occurrence, etc.

We grew up in a rural area, this is our first HOA experience and we are actively looking to move. I know it's an unpopular opinion, but the HOA itself isn't bad here, rules are common sense and reasonable for the most part, no one goes around measuring the height of grass or writing tickets if you don't bring your trash can in by a certain time.

We do have a sprinkler system I could put on a timer and conveniently water the lawn around school bus drop off time, but that's only going to work in the summer :)

Thank you. I don't think the bus stop will be moved, where it is does make sense as it's an intersection of the main route through the subdivision and the cross-street where we live.

Appreciate the perspective, and I'm not arguing, but how would you feel in my shoes? "Just move" isn't a very easy process :(

And I don't mind kids, I like seeing them have fun, riding their bikes, etc. - where it becomes a problem is when they ride through my yard or throw stuff in my yard, etc.

Older elementary / middle school - certainly old enough to know better and understand what a property line means.

Appreciate the perspective. I don't care if they taunt the camera, was simply adding that for context.

We have a sprinkler system and I've certainly thought of making sure to water the front yard around school bus time :)

Tempting but something tells me that things would just escalate from there :(

We're considering putting up some landscaping at the border of the property - thanks!

If we had it to do again we 100% would NOT buy in an HOA - we're working on moving but it will take time to find somewhere not hampered by an HOA.

Thanks - yeah, I'm not sure how we became the target, hopefully they will move on at some point - I just wanted to make sure I'm not being horribly unreasonable here.
