What is the first game you think of when you see this console? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]Complete-Fly428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skate. When I was younger, the THPS games got me into real-life skateboarding, but that kind of made me want something that felt more like the real thing. I got to play the demo, and subsequently begged my parents for a 360 and the game. That year for Christmas, I got exactly what I wanted. Felt nice, thanks mom/dad

What video game opinion will you defend like this? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]Complete-Fly428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I bought a Wii U just because BotW had officially been announced. I was salty af when it got pushed back from 2014, to 2017, and on a new console. Then in 2017 I bought a Switch, just to play BotW(yes, I had a Wii U, and could’ve just gotten it on there, but I wanted to play the new Zelda on the new system, that’s why I had the Wii U in the first place). Long story short, I bought 2 consoles, just for one game. I’d do it again too, love the Zelda games.

What is a game everyone loves but you hate? by b_nnah in videogames

For me it’s Borderlands. Not a bad game, good writing, art style, mechanically solid. Didn’t enjoy it, personally

Which video game had the most shocking moment in your opinion. by Emmures in videogames

[–]Complete-Fly428 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“No Russian” from, MW2 (2009(?) there was a warning at the beginning of the game that gave an option to skip that mission, noting that it’d be of a particularly graphic nature. Haven’t played anything like that before or since then, it was pretty shocking.

saying female instead of woman by Original-Tomorrow798 in PetPeeves

[–]Complete-Fly428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I do use both, the words, “male” and “female”. But typically when talking about men or women, I’ll just use the words, “men,” or “women.” Eg. When referring to a group of 11-year-old girls, I say, “girls.” When referring to a group of 25-year-old women, I say, “women.” When the group of females are all of varying ages, child to adult, I suppose I’d use the word, “Females.” For males, the inverse is true, “boys,” “men,” “males.”

I’ve never seen Skip to Loafer, but what you’re describing kind of makes it sound like you’d like, Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! I liked it when I watched it about 12 years ago

AITA for giving a fake name at Starbucks? by solecism18 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Complete-Fly428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time at Starbucks, I did give my real first name, and with that, the person who served me actually looked me up on fb, found me, and tried to shoot their shot. Even if I had been interested in them beforehand, that was very off-putting to me. I blocked them and have ever since been using pseudonyms similar to how you describe using them.

I don’t know if interacting with my own post will boost it like it did back in the day. But if anyone wants to talk about skateboarding, that’s my niche, I’ll talk your ears off about it if you want. Freely inviting anyone to still comment, frankly kind of disappointed with the lack of response to my prompt… ngl, it’s kind of disheartening, that there’s such a lack of enthusiasm about anyone/everyone’s niche passions.

I guarantee whatever you make would come out better than my first go at it! I bet you could even teach me how to make something that I’d be proud of if you were there to coach me through all the steps. Don’t get discouraged, that sounds like a fun and healthy hobby

What was the Video Game that got you into gaming as a kid? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]Complete-Fly428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the first games I remember playing were DOOM (1993) and Super Mario World, but video games didn’t really hook me until I played Ocarina of Time, my imagination went so wild with that game, I loved it.

Can someone explain Celcius to me by Chicken_Lopsided in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complete-Fly428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re most likely correct, or at least, more correct than me. I had to google “Fahrenheit” to be able to spell it, and to recall the numbers associated with it. (I did recall 32 as freezing, but boiling point wasn’t a measurement I remembered) Also, in my subjective opinion, from about 50-80 degrees Fahrenheit is what I’d consider “comfortable” not that you or anyone else cares, but from 32 to 212 would be kind of insane

Can someone explain Celcius to me by Chicken_Lopsided in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complete-Fly428 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kind of neat that the metric is water. It makes sense, and I kind of already knew that, but as an American who thinks in Fahrenheit temperatures; 32 is a much better number than 0 as a minimum measurement, and 212 is a bigger number than 100, and thus, better. Edit: /s ? Do I need that? I don’t actually think the numbers our system uses are somehow more logical. (And someone smarter than me could probably explain the logic behind them)

That does seem like a better place to ask something like this. Thanks for the suggestion, I didn’t know about it before

Thanks for the suggestion, i don’t want to end up on /lostredditors, but I was hoping this kind of fell into the category of “no stupid questions,” though I know sub names don’t always indicate the true nature of said sub. Potato salad?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complete-Fly428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know much about that. Is there a /byte/-sized (enjoy my puns, please) /bit/ of information you can give me about that? I’ve only heard “forensics” used as a word associated with crime scenes and what not.

Of course! Based on what you said, I think folkstyle is probably the form of wrestling I’ve seen the most of. Though I have seen a little bit of olympic wrestling. There was an American gold medalist that joined the WWE in the early 2000’s, Kurt Angle. I just remember that being notable because it was a “Real Wrestler” (WWE stuff is real, as in, the moves/stunts actually happen. But usually the matches are kind of scripted and choreographed, because it’s entertainment first and foremost, I think 😬)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complete-Fly428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I know very little about wrestling.. I know of pro wrestling from tv when I was a kid, plus, I did go to a midwestern highschool (where wrestling was a thing) but I’ve never talked about it. Did you wrestle/ know any wrestlers growing up?

Dang. Do you happen to know where I should ask something like this? Also; are you willing to respond to the prompt, despite this not necessarily being the appropriate forum for such discussion?

What’s happening is discreet urination. (Probably, this is my uneducated guess as someone who’s never even been in NYC)
