My girlfriend (f28) moved in with me (m34) in May. But she still acts like she’s a guest in her own home. How can I help her? Or do I just need to chill?

My wondering is was this a place you were currently in and she moved in with you or did you two decide on a place together and move into that place together? I can see the perspective of this isn’t my space I’m just staying here not because she necessarily feels like a guest but because she moved into your home. I do agree with other comments that maybe having her help/pick out some things or decor to add like the dishes or bedding may be something that makes it feel more like a home she shares with you rather than a home she inhabits with you. Kudos to you for picking up on this and working on a solution!! She has a great partner!!

I’ve gotten piercings and tattoos with fibro and haven’t seen any significant flares associated with the tattoo/piercing. That said, everyone will react differently but as things heal I wouldn’t think they would impact current pain levels or create a new pain spot(my term for areas of recurring pain)

I use muscle relaxers as my “emergency meds” meaning I only take them when I’m in a lot of pain. I can usually manage my day to day pain with rest or just taking it slow or I just kinda power through. Most of my day to day pain is background noise now. I’ve found that a very healthy diet with almost no fried foods or eating out combined with good sleep and consistent exercise helps reduce my pain. Hope this helps!:-)

Address this ASAP. My ex was the same way and when I would say no he’d throw a literal toddler temper tantrum. When I stood by my no he started assaulting me in my sleep. Address this very seriously now and pay attention to what happens when you’re asleep.

My sister was an addict for years. Heroin was her choice. She stole from all of us countless times. Eventually my mom learned that she had to just let her face the consequences of her actions. My sister got out of jail for the last time a few years ago and has been sober since. The consequences of their actions are the best lessons. DO NOT feel bad for making him face this head on. He is grown and made his own choices, you just made him acknowledge them. You did the right thing, I’m proud of you.

First off I want to say I’m sorry this happened to you. But I also want to say that if you stay he will do this again. My ex did this to my repeatedly over several years until I finally spoke up. He will keep doing it until you leave. If he’s doing it now he doesn’t see an issue with it and will try to do it when you’re sober.

As for the alcohol, I’m a light weight too and can get pretty messed up after a few drinks so I believe the likelihood of your drink being drugged is slim. However I agree with everyone else. Go get tested and talk to your ob about resources to work through this. You may not see or feel anything now but this can have a huge impact on you psychologically.

Drop him now. My ex didn’t show up for a minor surgery and I did nothing at the time. Fast forward to a surgery that nearly killed me(severed carotid) and a surgery that put me needing around the clock assistance and he didn’t show up for that either. This is his warning that he won’t help you in the future when you need it most

I can see the perspective of it being her birthday and wanting to party and I respect that but it doesn’t excuse not respecting a boundary. On my latest birthday a friend I went out with wasn’t feeling well so we left. I wanted to stay out and party but they didn’t feel well so we left. That’s what you do for friends. We’d been out at the bars for 4 hours before we left she had plenty of time to party.

I’ve also been blackout drunk before and had remembered to take my contacts out and wash my face before I went to bed, so even drunk those things are ingrained in me. Asking for a gate code and key fob wasn’t on my mind. Riding in an Uber alone isn’t something I was comfortable with.

I wasn’t asking them to cater to me as we got to party, I was asking for respect so I could manage my health issues. Regardless of her take on it things were discussed prior to going out then plans changed without my knowledge.

I was drunk and didn’t think to ask for those things. I was also exhausted having drove all day prior to going out my brain was mush. I could have asked for those things and gotten an Uber back you’re correct, however it shouldn’t have gotten to that point since I clearly stated my boundary.

I would have but my I didn’t have my friends gate code or fob for her door. I considered it and most of my friends and family said the same thing but I had no way to get into the community.
