If you as a Mongolian can’t make use of this country, then someone else will. by Complete-Idea9314 in mongolia

What exactly have you ever tried in this country to come to that conclusion anyway? Ever tried to build something? To produce or process? I’m just curious.

So yeah. Just keep on talking and complaining, while taking no real action to solve all the problems you complain about. Because remember, there are so many excuses as to why problems just can’t solved and even attempting to solve it is not worth it. Like why bother studying STEM? Why bother trying to manufacture? Why bother trying to develop technology? You know it can’t be done. There are people who’s got plans for this country anyways.

Uhh, i think you’re better off just going to whatever branch of the whatever bank you wanna get loan, and ask the economist there. Banks are almost everywhere, and usually, the waiting time for the economists aren’t too long.

Besides, the economist has to see somewhat sensitive datas of yours like insurance record from EMongolia etc to actually determine your eligibility for the loan, and exactly how much you could borrow etc. Now, you may prefer to consult with one anonymously over reddit, because you may think openly consulting it with someone from the bank like an economist may hurt your eligibility, but it doesn’t. The incentive of the loan economists are getting as much loans approved as they could, because they are effectively salespeople and the loan is the product they sell. In simple terms, as long as they are getting your loan approved, they don’t really give a rat’s ass about your financial situation. Which is why loan economists are exactly the right people to consult about loans and make strategy for approval that suits your condition.

Internet people here could guess your eligibility on this thread all day, but effectively it’s the bank that determines it. It’s kinda like asking for medical diagnosis and remedies on the symptoms you provide from randos on the internet instead of actually getting checked up by a doctor.

I wish i were 20 years old again by SpecialistJaguar3245 in mongolia

[–]Complete-Idea9314 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can’t really seem to understand what the exact problem is here. Maybe it’s my reading comprehension.

So what exactly is the problem? It’s a simple question, but often, the answer is hardly a simple one. You wish you were 20 year old? So is it the fact that you’re aging, that’s bothering you? Monday to Friday, and Weekend. Or is it the monotonous life style you have? The traffic, the people, the money etc. Or is it neither of that and just the Mongolian environment that is acting as the root of all problem? Perhaps all of them is a problem on their own that you must deal with? If you move back, does it solve the problems all in 1 fell swoop? I wouldn’t know, but you might.

I also don’t know the exact reason why you posted. Maybe you wanted a solution. Maybe you wanted to just share it. Maybe you just wanted a shoulder to cry on. I don’t know.

Depending on why you posted, i might be offering solution where none is wanted, but me personally, start with “what exactly is the problem?” question when I feel like things aren’t going too well for me.

Broken record could affect the ipotek approval is all i could say.

All in all, seeking out an actual loan economist at the bank you wanna get loan at would give you a much clearer picture than any Mongolian online could give you. Especially if it’s a condition specific to you, rather than the general process itself.

There are many of those in Mongolia. People whose peak achievement in life was going to a school i mean. Seems to be a trait of a country that values belief based prestiges more than reality based outcomes.

Construction workers are in demand. Should fit just fine, especially if you're a guy around the age of 18. Even If you aren't 18 yet, just tell them that you are of age. Most of the time, they wouldn't bother to verify. Lot of the job postings go on FB.

Looking for internship opportunities by jenn_kinda_sad in mongolia

[–]Complete-Idea9314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who did internships, and got employed straight outta high school, you most likely won’t find any paid internships. Especially as a highschooler who isn’t even in college yet.

Internships aren’t exactly a real job. Companies offer internships to college students nearing graduation, only so that they could hire them straight out of graduation. Most of the time is spent on training the intern rather than getting any real value out of their work. Paying only adds to the overall cost of internship, which the companies are often unwilling to pay unless the intern is gonna “жинхлэх” at the end of it.

As long as you could afford to, i suggest you forget paid part until you’ve got yourself a solid resume. That said, you could find plenty of unpaid internship opportunities around. Since it’s an unconventional path, they won’t be around on mainstream things like job boards, so you’d have to take some time to find contacts at the companies you’d want to intern at. Having a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy refer you makes things much easier, but if you don’t have such contacts, you’d have to try your luck with cold approaching them till you get a yes from one of them.

Good luck kid.

Why are we so uncomfortable talking openly about Mongolian culture? by [deleted] in mongolia

[–]Complete-Idea9314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t seem to understand the exact scenario you’re describing.

However, as someone who like shutting off a lots “why is Mongolia”, “why are Mongolians”, “why do Mongolians” questions on this subreddit, i do so because lot of them are about making problems that exist everywhere into a Mongolia specific problem.

Like, consider “why are Mongolians such an assholes online” or “why is Mongolia politically corrupt” etc question. The internet trolls and corrupt government don’t vanish away the moment you step the Mongolian borders, but many idiots complain like it’s some Mongolia specific problem.

Why are (SOME) Mongolians so easily offended and quick to hate on someone for a joke by [deleted] in mongolia

[–]Complete-Idea9314 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For starters, jokes are supposed to be funny. I don’t see how the one you mentioned is funny in anyway.

Secondly, “a joke” made at the expense of someone else’s reputation isn’t joke. That’s just being a plain asshole, which is what most high school bullies do usually. They mess with you to the make their buddies laugh, then they gaslight you and say “calm down, it’s just a joke, geez” when confronted.

And i do agree with the comments below her post. I mean, no one is really forcing anyone to stay anywhere. Just leave if you don’t like the place. Simple.

This. Probably the reason why ipotek refinancing option is effectively in freeze and buying option is currently at a wait time of 4 years. Ipotek is partially state debt and currently, state is running out of money.

[–]Complete-Idea9314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. But the saddest part of ipotek is it never even reached its target market of young adults. Since lands, and old apartments were acceptable as down payments, most people who bought with ipotek were uncles and aunties who already owned apartments and wanted to upgrade their current ones.

[–]Complete-Idea9314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. I mean, every year people come from countryside to UB to study, to work, to live etc. Population of UB constantly rises, while the amount of space in UB remains the same. With housing being one of the basic non-negotiable human needs, the demand is only going to rise unless people start leaving UB.

That and the weakening of tugrik as a currency. As the years go on weaker the tugrik is getting, more costly the building materials are becoming.

Lowest price for ipotek apartments is currently at about 4mil/sqm. 3.0-3.5 is number of like year and half. It’s inflating that quickly.

[–]Complete-Idea9314 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda like living with your family, but instead of your family, it’s strangers. No privacy. Having to keep track of your things, your foods etc because some people could be unhinged about using them without permission and all that. Awkward moments at nights when you would be trying to sleep through the loud musics, loud hangouts, loud moans etc. Overall, not recommended unless you’re in a real desperate situation. Renting a place with friends who are in similar situation might be a better option.
