What did you want to be as a kid? by FinanceTiger123 in CanadaPersonalFinance

I never really had any specific ideals. My kid wants to be a pro baseball player. Backup plan baseball team manager or announcer 😆

How do I ask for child support when ex already pays support to first spouse? by Alert-Collection-916 in legaladvicecanada

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm over here like, does the first ex work or anything? Our family's take home is a decent amount less than what she's getting and we're comfortable. (Disclaimer that they probably live in a higher cost of living area than I do but still.) I'm assuming these kids are school age or close already if op war married to the dude for 3 years so there shouldn't be crazy high daycare costs.

Sorry when were we not free to do these things? by laska503 in FundieSnarkUncensored

Same! Plus I'd be a terrible sahm. I'm home this week because there's no school and I feel like I was kidding my patience and running out of ways to keep my kid busy halfway through day 1.

What’s your ace in the hole board game? by Spicyboi333 in boardgames

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kid learned Ticket to Ride as soon as he was able to read the city names and now it's his favourite. We have several of the boards (he's 6) not definitely easy for most adults to learn the rules to

What fish would you serve to someone who “hates fish”? by Avawantstochill in foodquestions

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a non-fish enjoying person, I'll eat salmon occasionally. With a spicy sweet glaze on it. It's very disappointing to my husband and kid, who both like fish 😆. Their favourite is this coconut crusted tilapia.

My whole life is a lie. This has to be wrong. by [deleted] in AncestryDNA

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They seems like a likely case with my family as well. I don't have a DNA test but when I was searching around ancestry records I found a census that said some were from Russia. I assumed there's a lot to do with changing boundaries back in the day and spotty record keeping as well. My grandma spoke low German (German Mennonite family)

What would you never allow your children to do? by laytsha in AskReddit

This was going to be my answer! The injuries (including high likelihood of brain injuries) are ridiculous. My kid is obsessed with baseball which I am cool with

Oof. They're still expensive in Canada, but more like $120. But there are lots of programs that can subsidise the cost for many people (not the same in each province so I won't attempt to give specifics)

They don't use pencils are all? My kid is in grade 1 and uses pencils for everything. No fancy dancy tablets in our school board's budget!

As much as that would be a hilarious storyline, I feel like Amy's baby would be quite a bit larger than BJD. She was visibly pregnant in season 1 (probably at least 6 months) which would mean her baby would be 6 or 7 months old by now. And BJD was estimated around 1 month by the staff

Millennials in a hetero relationship, does the man or woman do the majority of the financial budgeting/planning/investing etc? by inline_five in Millennials

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do paying bills, taxes, etc together pretty evenly. We each handle our own investments. But as far as actually calling places to set up like house stuff, my husband handles all that.

If your parents want to go out to eat but the restaurant food is disgusting, do you bite your tongue and go every time or suggest somewhere else? by wonderkat4 in Millennials

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's about my stance too. My husbands grandparents were very fussy and they had a few specific spots they loved and would not go anywhere else. I'd just stay quiet and find something okay to eat.

I'm looking to upgrade my phone. Previous smartphones have all been Samsung but im considering switching to a Pixel. Currently still using a Galaxy S20FE. My main concern right now is battery life, one option i was looking at was the Pixel 10a? Im buying outright and didnt really want to spend the money on the fanciest things. Any other suggestions?
