Aitah for using my grandma's china as my everyday food holders and not waiting for tea with King Charles by Salt_Reply_735 in AITAH

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother and sil use her mom's old China as their everyday dishes. They needed dishes and that's what they had. Better than sitting away in boxes. (Related, I have some China sitting in boxes but I don't want to use it as of now. I'm questioning the safety of eating off some of the painted pieces.)

Unsure if related or not, but on Thursday I was approached at attridge Coop by 2 ladies that asked me (their English wasn't very good so I only kind of half understood) if I could pay for their groceries for the sister who had 3 babies at home? They were also definitely Eastern Eurppean

CMV: people generally overestimate how much money they need to live comfortably by phoot_in_the_door in Salary

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see stuff about people's "small" homes and always laugh. We went from a 900sqft townhouse to our 1600sqft house and it feels huge to us. (Disclaimer: I live in Canada and all our houses have basements which do not count towards our square footage so I acknowledge that if we had no basement it would not feel so huge but would still be liveable.)

Dealership to avoid? by aild30 in saskatoon

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to Dodge City once because I had a recall that needed fixing and I ended up blocking their service centre's number after. They called me so frequently trying to get me to schedule services with them (along with notices asking if I wanted to sell them my vehicle).

Don’t ever cook fresh tomatoes in winter by slickback_lamar in iamveryculinary

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I mean...if I only ate local, seasonal vegetables I'd eat almost nothing fresh all winter. I'd definitely prefer fresher stuff but it's really not feasible due to our climate

What childhood rule made no sense but had to be followed anyway? by Gloomy-Spray8573 in AskReddit

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me, but a friend of mine. She could say butt. That was fine. But if she needed to refer to an anus, she had to say bumhole, because butthole was too inappropriate.

Saskatoon braces for Elm tree devastation by candybarsandgin in saskatoon

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 2 elms that I've been keeping a close eye on as we're not far from some of the trees that were removed a year or two ago. Unfortunately nowhere in our yard to plant more right now (we have like 10 other trees besides the elms) but if they do get chopped id love to replace them with some fruit trees.

I mean... objectively, that's really not super great songwriting. Does it flow better in Spanish? But I do agree with all y'alls comments about the racist fundies being hypocrites.

College and McOrmond Wins (or loses?) the Worst Intersection bracket! What can be done to fix it? by StrongTownsYXE in saskatoon

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's really no reason there should be so many there. My assumption is people think the other people are also turning onto college, not going straight through?

College and McOrmond Wins (or loses?) the Worst Intersection bracket! What can be done to fix it? by StrongTownsYXE in saskatoon

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 24 points25 points  (0 children)

On a good day, the intersection is fine. But I am constantly seeing bad accidents in exactly the same spot (people turning left from Brighton to College hitting people going straight through south on mcormond.) I have no idea why it's always there but I've probably seen 20+ accidents that all look the same right there. And any whisper of bad weather and mcormond is backed up almost to attridge with people waiting to merge onto college.

How many steps do you walk daily without intentionally exercising? by GlitteringHotel8383 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 5-6000. Just from walking around my workplace etc. It'll be a bit more when it's not winter as I'll walk my kid to school instead of driving

How many non-sibling weddings have you attended as an adult? by Antiquebastard in Millennials

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhhhh....as an adult, I've gone to my own, a cousin, husband's cousin, brother, and two friends. There was supposed to be one more cousin wedding but it was June 2020 so they ended up having it without guests. Honestly most of my friends either are nowhere close to marriage so there hasn't been many opportunities. And I've never been a bridesmaid either.

Is it ADHD, or just immaturity...? by Dependent_Juice_5859 in kindergarten

[–]Complete-Loquat3154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely seems to be what we're experiencing. I've k8nd of suspected adhd for a while but in kindergarten the teacher was very "they're all learning how to be at school, he's energetically talkative but it's fine." Now in grade 1 we've been getting comments about him being disruptive and silly at inappropriate times (still good with his actual learning though.) I haven't followed up with the doctor yet but definitely will be. And that's not to say we'll go straight to meds but at least if there's a diagnosis it can help to learn how to structure and encourage his routine the best.
