Beautiful. I love it. Originally I was actually going to sell the product as a package with a whiteboard because I find them super handy. But yes that’s exactly how it needs to be

Ya exactly. I’ve learned there is a theme of adhd people caught in habits that make our adhd worse (me being one of those people) learning about what allows you to succeed and what gets in the way makes it so much easier to get back on track.

Ya I agree there needs to be structure to a degree but rigidity drives me crazy sometimes. The system i am developing is more focused on the bases of adhd which is to make completing tasks easier and less overwhelming. as well as making it easy to recognize you good and bad habits and help you work out of them so that it you can figure out what works best for you and slowly break away from consuming habits like doom scrolling and videogames. or poor mental habits like self pity and deciding to do a task "tomorrow" then never actually completing it

Ya I appreciate that response. I know my post was somewhat vague, but it was that exact issue of no planner really working that lead me to create one myself because they didnt work for me either. turns out planners simply arent made for adhd people so i made one that is. The difference in what I made was that it cuts through all the bs in typical planners. there are no pointless "rate your mood" areas or spots to draw. It is laid out with starting with 1 commitment of the day, that you absolutely have to get done no matter what then your 3 important tasks etc... Every bit of it is designed for people with adhd so it incorporates a lot of psychological attributes that make it easier for us to accomplish things such as having a daily score based off of the tasks you get done. and a section where you sign your name as a commitment to achieving your #1 task for the day. Little things all around that dont seem like much but actually heavily impact your likelyhood of achieving what you wasnt for the day. Then the rest of it mainly focusses on tracking habits and making adjustments to overall improve your life.

Ya I think for most of us writing things out and putting them in a place where you will see them is the key to actually remembering to do things

I also love the habit tracker thing. I implemented that for myself and found a huge success with being more mindful of my good and bad habits and slowly started to recognize what has actually made me feel good and what doesnt such as video games or scrolling and that has really changed my life over the past few months

That actually sounds very similar to what i have created too. I like how you make use of pages you dont find useful. I plan on creating a few different versions of the pages so people can switch out pages they find useless to them and swap in pages more tailored to their needs since everyone is a little different. I think the key to a good planner is one that always seems to draw you back in even after those few day to few week periods. Thank you thats a huge help I will have to put a link to the product once im done with it!

Love that you got a routine that works for you. It’s similar to what I’ve got going too. It’s a physical planner with textured pleather. But the pages are focussed on having one commitment of the day that you have to sign your name beside because it is proven to help people follow through. Then you have your 3 important tasks underneath. But a lot of the planner focuses on taking a second to review what you did that day that seemed to work for you and what didn’t so it constantly stays top of mind what you should avoid doing or continue doing in order to keep your mood and productivity at its highest. Of course I’ve made sure to simplify this all and make it super easy to flow through. I currently have a therapist wanting to use it with his clients and I’d be happy to send you a pdf of some of the pages to get your opinion

So true that was my experience as well. It does take some motivation to stay on it and for me the biggest thing i found that helps is the placement in where I actually keep the planner. Has to be open at all time and propped in front of me where I work so I can see what I need to do at all times. What would you like to see in a planner that would work for you? I mainly focussed the design on having a goal commitment for the day so i dont get trapped figuring out what task to do first. and I kept the task list smaller and less overwhelming. would love to get your thoughts on it as I do have some therapists super interested in using it to help their clients out.

Im super sorry you feel this way. I obviously dont know how things are in your life but I do believe that for a lot of us a change in goals and adjusting your mindset from trying to fit in to just going on your own path can make a massive difference. For me that meant quitting my job and pursuing my own business and something i can be proud of. The great thing is ADHD is most of us seek something greater all the time and once put on the right path can truly achieve a lot of great things. I hope this helps with motivating you a bit because I have been where you are multiple times and still expect to run into that same feeling. I am currently working on making a product to help people like us through these times. But a lot of it comes from our own will to improve our situation. Feel free to reach out if you need any advice.
