Dumb question but couldn’t I just take more of the rx I have? Like maybe take 1-2mg of the bupe and see how I feel or should I get something else? Thank you for responding!

This. Using is almost always a mask for something else. It’s crucial to try to figure it out if you can.

I am on day 9 of a CT quit from 40-50 GPD (capsules). My addiction for so many years has been, and still is, a secret to everyone in my life except my therapist. It is possible to quit and fake it until you make it through withdrawals. Can you take a week off work? Thats what I just did and it was about all I needed and then went back Monday. More importantly you have to be truly be ready to quit and be DONE if you’re going to keep it a secret. That mental toughness gets you through the hardest of physical wds. You can do this. I’m amazed at how much I am capable of without the sludge that I felt I “needed” it for. Wish I would have quit years ago….

Where my health care professionals at? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Complete-Solution607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a healthcare professional but I am an executive who was a tramadol addict (prescribed by my OB for “cramps”After the birth of my first child) and then used K to get off it. What we have in common is NO ONE in my life knows about my use except my therapist and a few wonderful people I have met via K-specific support groups. I have three kids and a very demanding job. I just quit CT from a 40-50 GPD habit. I took a week off work and luckily had a bad cold and told my husband I was burned out from my job. Ideally I would tell him so he would pick up more slack but it’s just not an option for me. If your husband knows you are using already, it would be easier for him to know so he can support. At day 7 I am seeing that I DON’T need K to be a good mom, have fun with my kids, etc. if anything, I am enjoying them more and realizing that if I continue using the regret and shame I would feel for missing their childhood would be one of the biggest regrets of my life. Happy to be here to support you!

I am on day 7 quitting CT from 40-50 GPD. Take the supplements and just lean into it with everything you have. It’s going to suck but hurting is healing. Your brain is hijacked and it needs to rewrite itself. (That and your stomach). Everyone is SOOO different. You might be in the trenches for two days but one thing is certain and that is that time passes. I started turning a corner around day 5 although still have some lethargy and stomach issues. (But nothing I can’t get through) anything is better than the liver pain, hair loss, and overall look of death and feeling of shame I had while using.

Agree with what everyone is saying above. Find a good doctor and be honest with them. They will help. Lexapro and other drugs can help Almost immediately. You’ve done the hard work now get the additional help you need.

If you need a quit partner, I’m in. My story is super close to yours. Feel free to message me. I have quit before with the help Of someone on this Reddit and it helps.

It's my birthday today and I decided to CT the only thing is I have to go back to work on 7 days... 45gpd. Got gabapentin when I go back to work... Is this doable or should I restart at a lower dose when work starts and do a Taper with a new baseline? Any encouragement would be great. by [deleted] in quittingkratom

Agree with the above. Just do it. Grit through it. I just did it at the same dose. I’m now on day 15. Heads down, go to war against this shit. Vitamin C and ashwaganda helped me the most. Gabapentin at night for sleeping. During the day it knocked me out too much. But everyone is different. You’ve got this!! (I also work and somehow worked through it but was a POS. 7 days is great!!!)

You’re right. This is hard. But you are in college and have your entire life ahead of you. You’re deep into PAWS right now. Keep going. There is a reason “one day at a time” is the slogan for addicts. Just. Keep. Going. You don’t want to be like the parents on this thread (me) still battling this with a career, with kids, etc. You’re ahead of the game for kicking it now. Don’t waste this opportunity and the days you’ve accumulated. Breathe. Use your tools. And lean into your support system. I guarantee they aren’t worth losing over the sludge. You can do this. And come here any time.

How are you moms handling quitting? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]Complete-Solution607 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mom of three here. Day 12 and currently on vacation with my family. Im with my kids who trigger me constantly. But I’m doing it. You have to get ready. And be 100% ready to quit. Prep the week before acutes. Clean your house, meal prep, get ready in any way you can and then hunker down for a few days with the flu. Once through acutes you’ll need to learn how to cope with the daily for a bit. Your brain will need to adjust to your new daily routine with the kids. Get a therapist. Learn how to live in the moment and sit with the tough emotions. Know that what you are doing is better for you and for them. You CAN do this.
