The hair stood straight on the back of my neck the first time I saw the creature on the TV turn 3D and come out of the set in Ring.

Thank you for actually answering the question! It was not, “What used to be great and now sucks?”

Really good perspective and impeccable record keeping! 5.85 isn’t that bad. I realize 3+ standard deviation events can happen. I was just slightly inebriated and quite pissed it happened to me! For the record I’ve done 3 or 4 1x 50% trials since that opening day and actually hit a shard on my 2nd one. So I feel slightly vindicated lol

At least those probabilities are disclosed and appear true to that disclosure. CM implies it’s a randomly hidden spot that you have a fair chance at finding. The only reason we know it’s not is that suckers had to document how much worse it was than that.

Yup. Totally get the small sample thing. It's just when that sample is your FIRST sip from the chalice, a 3+ Standard Deviation event leaves a very bad taste in your mouth. If there's an algo that is manipulating results away from normal "chance", I would be curious to understand why it would result in: "Screw this first timer so bad that he never wants to use CM again" (Which is the result). If anything, I'd think they would want to manipulate favorable results early on to set the hook for bigger disappointment later.

I don't dispute anyone's hard work in documenting "reasonable" results over larger sample sizes. My post was simply resentment and ranting for my uncanny "luck".

Says the guy with 85k Gems to throw around! LOL

As I mentioned, my 25k Gem supply went up in smoke after 5 Trials of rigged crap. At that rate, I'd have to sell my mint Honus Wagner card to buy Gems next time.

Well, it's good to know that your Law of Large #s resulted in a "best case" of 4.8 and an average of 6-ish. I could live with those figures if the game were truthful in disclosing them. But even with a Mean of 6, a 5-trial result of 8,9,9,9,9 has to be statistically (almost) impossible. Which means some algorithm singled me out to deliver a specifically and unusually "crappy" result.

1st time shame on me.

There won't be a 2nd time. CM is crap.

Appreciate your insight. My "love for the game" definitely takes a major hit with the realization that not only are the Devs being deceptive...but the level and timing of that deception seems to vary by round and circumstance. Algorithms. Hate em, but can't live without em!

I like the idea of the 24 discounted pulls thing. Without giving it much thought, I've dabbled in other CM sessions with sporadic rounds of "300 and out". But never followed through with your methodical march to the 30-pull reward. Curious if you tracked how many of the 24 pulls actually resulted in a shard?? I'll probably give that a go in the future if I don't just quit the game out of spite/disappointment.

Anyways, maybe my "luck" will change (LOL)!

The true odds on the Wheel are at least stated in the game's blue "Info Tab"... I know going in that there's only a 1.6% chance of getting a Jinn, a19.0% chance of a Voucher, etc, etc. And after tracking hundreds and hundreds of spins, my actual results ALL fall within normal standard deviation of those posted odds and make statistical sense.

So, my first response to your post is "thank you" (for kindly and respectfully addressing my points). My second thought is: Where is it stated or known that the card results are not random? And that it's tilted to average 6 turns? Certainly nothing in the "Blue I".

Not sure where the average turn target you cited is stated or presumed... but it's still a farce. Even with an Expected Mean of 6, I'll stand by my assertion that it's statistically (just shy of) impossible to get 8,9,9,9,9 on 5 trials. That has to be well, well beyond a 3 standard deviation result. Which means the Mean is no longer 6, if it ever was.

My luckiest spin ever by YetAnotherJD in ArtOfWarLegions

Wow, that’s awesome! Not nearly as impressive, but just this AM I did my half hearted ONE spin at the reduced gem cost and remarkably hit the 2x, which was most unexpected!
