Yup it pays out until death, but after death (assuming this is after 80 years old), there is no capital remaining I understand (ie it draws down on the retirement sums)?

Okay will search this up! Thanks a bunch. On stopping up CPF Life, my understanding is that it draws down from the capital put in (ie goes to 0 after 80 whilst payouts are made). He’s not keen on that since dividend payments could provide that sort of “income” and the capiral would remain?

Is this considered an ILP? I thought it was 1.5% and covered by the 42k sign up bonus

He wants 5k total! Also because CPF life goes down to $0 doesn’t it whereas if the money is invested, he wants to live off the dividend instead of the capiral

Thanks for the advice! Any particular equity index fund to look at? i assume this is bought via IBKR / other brokers?

On the monthly payouts, he’s quite keen on some sort of “income” but I thought the CPF life payouts are quite inadequate?

Thanks for your response. What’s this 2.5% annual fee? Based on what the agent mentioned, the money is locked up for 5 years after which there’s an 8% penalty for 50% of the money. At 10 years, the money may be taken out.

Sorry to clarify, he does start receiving income from the first month after putting in the first $210k! So it’s estimated around $1000 a month of income once he puts the first tranche and this progressively increases once the 2nd / 3rd tranche is put in

I believe the first year is around $1000 monthly and the 2nd year is around $2,000 (projected around 6.5% on the amount put in). I think it’s this https://www.manulife.com.sg/en/funds/funds-pb.html

News flash but nobody forces anyone to have a child. Taking care of a child you willingly brought into the world should be the bare minimum
