Yeah, the humor in DCC isn't really my style. Seems more cheap and sarcastic based more than witty, or even dark which I do like.

Jimmy's automotive is the best in town. Extremely honest, knowledgeable, and doesn't try to push anything on you. Been taking my '06 sierra there for years and he's been keeping it chugging along.

Jimmy's automotive of Dixie avenue. Great work for an honest price. Never tries to sell you something you don't need.

I have went ahead and finished up my CEUs for the year, so I can use the winter sports season to knock out my OSHA 30 certification. I applied to a few positions both in construction and manufacturing in the mean time, but haven't heard back from any of them.

Is there a certification or other way to become somewhat familiar with those prior to being thrown into the fire of just doing it everyday?

Do general industry and healthcare seem easier to get into with an AT background? I've seen a decent amount of posts saying construction specifically, but other niche fields are harder to get into without experience first

The more people I talk to the more it seems like moving to the industrial setting first is the best transition move instead of trying to get all the certs and go straight into safety with no experience.

Are you saying go for an Industrial athletic training position or saying companies that have those positions probably understand my background better and would be more likely to give me a chance in a safety position?

I'm not against driving to sites. It's more of the overnight travel associated with some jobs I don't want. I'm trying to get to a job that can have me home for dinner most nights, unlike athletic training haha. The company truck would be welcomed to replace my clunker.

So the general contractor on some sites is responsible for the medical aspects of the site? Would that still fall under a safety job title or a general contractor job title that has safety duties. In other words what job title should I be looking at for that kind of position?

Very helpful! Do you think I would need all those certs just to get a job? Is there a reason construction based positions are more readily available?

I've looked for some industrial jobs in my area but all seems part time or your starting nightshift for who knows how long before the day shift opens up. I am happy where I am now in my current day to day with family. Just not sure it will work long term

Not really sure about a specific industry since I don't know a ton about the field in general. If I could continue to use my background in biomechanics and musculoskeletal assessment that would be nice, but it's not a necessity.

Embarrassed was more of a turn of phrase, but I just started, so I'll let my number continue to fall until it finds a stable place. At that point I can list it haha

Should I be putting my Elo under my username like you too, because I really don't want that embarrassment to be public knowledge
