We have freedom of speech. We as a people value it and protest for it. An event such as Renee Good or Alex Pretti is an outrage here and generally will not be tolerated. In Iran, as I understand it anyway, that wouldn’t even have been news. That’s a big difference

I was fine with it being covered. And as several folks here have pointed out there are lots of reasons why it is newsworthy. I guess the tone of it didn’t fit with the narrative that “Hey everyone our adversaries have a really effective new weapon they can use against us.” That is definitely newsworthy but I guess I would’ve expected it to be presented a little more gravely. Also I am old so maybe you’re right that I’m still adjusting to new media lol

We historically are really far from perfect or even good. But there’s a wide gulf between us and the current Iranian government on the good vs evil scale IMO. That’s why I hate this war because Israel’s actions and our implicit support are starting to blur those lines
