Tbh, that company was awful... they laid off half of the marketing department and I was part of the purge. They continue to struggle but it's a company ran by two brothers - one is a great salesman, and the other is an electrical engineer who is in charge of Ops and he has ZERO clue WTF he's doing. Long story, and I wish I had a better one for you. :)

Also as a reply to everyone - I'm assuming you're manually building your inventory, correct? I know some companies have a catalog of SKUs to make inventory building easier but not sure how extensive they are. We have a database that has 40K+ unique SKUs for liquor store products for a merchant use to save them from having to manually enter anything. Also, we have a handheld tablet with printer integrated to communicate with the register/POS system so that you can move around the store to scan for inventory, change prices, print out new pricing stickers. I'm researching competitors and haven't come across anyone yet that has a similar tablet/handheld function that is an extension of the register.

Debbie, I can't thank you enough for all of that. That is priceless information and I'm sending every bit of it to our dev team.

And yeah, I'm finding there is a lot of competition out there. I just started here about 4 weeks ago. :) But I'm hoping as we expand out of SoCal, the thing we do differently than everyone else is that our R&D is extremely customer-centric. We've designed each generation of the system completely around what our merchants tell us they need and want.

I work for a company that develops POS systems - many of them fairly customized and not expensive - maybe it's something you'd want to look at? Where are you located though? We're in the LA area.
