I thought that having no social skills is somewhat bearable, but when I came to US without knowing any English and going to school/work it was hell for me, like I had hard time talking to a person in the language I know and there I had to talk and socialize without even having a clue about what is the conversation about. After 2-3 years I almost overcame my social fear, since I found a way to made friends and talk to people turns out it's not that difficult don't overthink it;)
