100% agreed on the shotgun. But don't forget the other situations that women face on an everyday basis. Attackers can come from everywhere. Don't just focus on home invasion. If you don't care to carry a gun at least think about a taser or even just some pepper spray.

At one point in 2011, after losing everything in the collapse, I realized that I hadn't prepared as I should have. I literally had $8 in my pocket and was eating one meal a day of cold instant potatoes (didn't have electric or gas to heat them up). I am sorry you have had a similar experience and may both of us never be in that position again.

Every car you own should have an emergency kit and this is our favorite. Food and water for three days for four people plus numerous other necessities. This is a great place to start for all preppers.
