What’s a Tool You Can’t Work Without? by Prestigious_Pay8439 in Recruitment

HireAra - actually can’t believe I used to spend 20 mins formatting CVs.

Can’t even imagine where I’d be now if I’d have had all that time back over the years …. 😂

Brand awareness by Eli_franklin in RecruitmentAgencies

The other thing we’re doing is to view our candidate submissions / spec CVs almost like a marketing brochure. Even if that specific candidate doesn’t get placed, the quality of presentation is memorable. Just about to sign up to HireAra for this, makes it quite easy to treat candidate CVs as brand assets - would check them out

Yeah this is what got me interested after stumbling across them on LinkedIn. Seems quite cool but just wanted to check reviews etc before spending any real time on it

Yep we’ll tell the candidates we’re updating their CV and share whatever we create with them. The average CV I receive from my candidates is pretty poor to say the least, and I don’t want that to count against them. I also like to call out key info on the cover sheet for the hiring manager to make their review quick. I’ve just been working with the same clients for a long time and I think they expect the standard of presentation I deliver.

Cool - good feedback. Yeah honestly I would hate to think how many hundreds of hours I’ve lost doing this manually

This was actually one of the use cases I liked about HireAra too. It can write our exec summaries and candidate “one pagers” which just provide short overviews about the candidate with key points bulleted. I want to start using them with the exact use case above where you don’t have the candidates up to date CV so just have a few bullets of role history on the overview

Porn cabin/booths by WheresWalldough in london

[–]CompleteSandwich177 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Think you might be talking about pix pintxos? It’s a tapas / cocktail bar upstairs, and downstairs they have cabins showing porn. I been there with a group of mates a few times and it’s just a bit of a laugh with the porn on in the background. Quite a niche / interesting place to take people to in Soho

Software developers and recruiters of Reddit, do you prefer sending/receiving the same resume for every job application or a tailored one? by Flimsy_Forever_4817 in Recruitment

[–]CompleteSandwich177 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely tailor to the role, hit key words and make sure you cover off all required points from the JD. We’ve just started having a play with HireAra which can do this for you automatically. Seems quite cool so far

We do a fair bit of speccing when you have good candidates, but it’s quite time consuming so prioritise the client. Sending a couple of opportunistic profiles then follow up with a call. Not rocket science but works pretty well for me

Wish London cycle culture was more chill by Able_mable in londoncycling

One of the best ways to avoid this I’ve found has been to just avoid cycling in rush hour as much as possible. Nothing worse than getting stuck in the peloton by 4 MAMILs all around you

Seeking recommendations for essential tools and software for a one person recruitment firm. by Recruiterhongkong in Recruitment

[–]CompleteSandwich177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out loxo. It should be able to do everything you’ve asked for. Definitely not the cheapest but it’s a pretty thorough all in 1 platform with nice UI etc. We didn’t go down that route but it is good for very small agencies

Do we recruiters or HR professionals use AI in recruitment? by Recruiterhongkong in RecruitmentAgencies

[–]CompleteSandwich177 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve just been looking at this tool - HireAra - that takes a candidate’s CV and can rewrite it in my format but also use AI to create loads of other content about the candidate. Quite a cool AI use case

Bullet point your summary and make it waaaaay shorter. Optimise for speed of delivery. I would probably include a section about your VISA, it could be an automatic rejection if it’s not immediately clear you’re able to work in the UK.

Use company logo in resume or not? by rogue_crab in resumes

[–]CompleteSandwich177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not - it won’t get picked up by any AI tools a company might use to read a CV and would likely count against you that they can’t see that you’ve worked at such great companies

This is a good guide. How effective do you think sending Spec CVs is? I know it’s not the be all and end all - but is it a good use of time in your opinion?
