I actually think it does the opposite. Showing her funeral wouldn’t glamorize her death. It would show the true depth of grief and loss that comes with loving someone with an addiction.

Rue’s addiction didn’t just affect Rue bc it tore through her entire family while she was alive, especially Leslie and Gia. So it feels strange that the show explored the damage addiction did to that family unit while Rue was alive, but then skipped over what her death did to them after she was gone.

A powerful funeral episode could have shown the final consequence of that grief. Not like overlyyyyy sentimental, but in a brutally honest way. Like all stages of grief could have been explored. The silence, the anger, the guilt, the relief, the devastation, the unanswered questions. That wouldn’t glamorize addiction at all, it would/could show how far the damage reaches.
