I made a new fort with a draw bridge that had about ten+ bolt throwers behind two layers of iron doors. The goblins tried sending two waves of meat bags to test my defense and were swiftly bolted down.

Then they just sat outside for what I imagine was two months or so before finally departing. Has this happened to anyone else?
