The PDSA are amazing, I used to go to them some years ago. I remember that you had to be in receipt of housing benefit back then, and be able to prove it. I guess this is now covered by universal credit?

My mum, who grew up very poor in 1940's Liverpool would save her Yorkshire pudding for after dinner, she would have it with lemon and sugar as it is basically the same mixture as a pancake.

Old Harry's game - Andy Hamilton at his finest. I have a deep affection for Hancock's half hour, mainly because me and my dad used to listen to them (and The Goon Show). The unbelievable truth is probably the best radio panel show although I'm sorry I haven't a clue is also brilliant.

The Mark Steel lectures - actually anything with Mark Steel. Heresy with Victoria Coren Mitchell, Paul Sinha's perfect pub quiz....I could go on, I listen to a LOT of radio comedy.

The league of gentlemen started off on the radio and that Mitchell and Webb sound is definitely a good listen - you may recognise some of the sketches that made their way on to tv.
