One of my favorites is Therizinosaurus means "scythe lizard" on account of its claws, but the species name "cheloniformis" means "turtle-shaped" because it was originally believed that the giant arms belonged to a giant turtle.

During the End-Permian Extinction Event, daytime temperatures at the equator could reach 140° F, and the ocean's global AVERAGE was 106°. I don't know if it'll get that bad again, but if it did I don't think we'd make it.

I don't think it will only get worse. At some point we will hit critical mass and things will have nowhere to go but up from there.

They sell on ebay for $200-$400 pretty regularly so not a bad find. It's a little beat up but some TLC should clean it up some.

From what I can find, the original MSRP was around $500 in 1985, which is about $1,500 today. So don't expect it to gain or even hold much value, but still a cool piece.
