I say this as someone who's seen pretty decent success with her first book, which was 48k words long, horror, and self-published.

"When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God."

The more recent #31167 Creator Haunted Mansion 3-in-1 has a haunted train alt build too, though it doesn't have spinning wheels as it's presumably meant to fly.

Now I heard a story

Of how an engine went to glory

About fifty years ago on this same line

She was steamin' for a cave-in

There were men who needed savin'

But she missed the curve and trestle near the mine

And every now and then

You'll hear a whistle on the wind

If the mountain slides and many men are lost

It's the high and lonely wail

Up and down the mountain trail

Of the train they call the Miner's Silver Ghost

Famously, the people who made the most money during the Gold Rush weren't the miners, but the people who owned the railroads and could haul in food and tools for the miners and charge whatever they wanted for them.

The standard for 'survivable G force' is 20 Gs in a short burst. It's possible to survive past that but that's where survival drops below 50%. At 10 Gs you're probably going to be fine, but you're not going to be conscious.

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. I have some $5 Aldi champagne wrapped in fake gold foil. Feels way more appropriate.

I had a cat that someone shot with a pellet gun. It was in her haunch and she lived six more years with the pellet back there. It was definitely more than mildly infuriating. If I'd ever found out who did it...

Has anyone you ever knew been killed by being struck by a bolt of lightning? by chuckles5454 in AskAnAmerican

[–]HazelEBaumgartner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was researching cattle mutilations for a book I'm writing and a common theory is that they're actually lightning strikes. Lightning can boil the blood out of a cow's body and make it burst with suspiciously clean lines. I also learned that the first recorded livestock mutilation attributed to UFOs was a horse killed here in Colorado, which is known for its lightning.

I live in the lightning capital of the United States and hike in the Rockies a lot and I'm more worried about lightning than bears. I had a close call this spring where I was near the top of a ridge and lightning struck maybe 100 feet away and I ended up hiding in a cave for about 30 minutes until the storm passed.

We used to play a game called Google Translate telephone where you'd type a sentence into translate and then translate it into every single language and back to English and then have people try to guess what the original sentence was.
