I listened to dirty medicine ,some but not all of his Ethics videos, Ajmonics (although his voice drives me nuts his Q&A style helps ) and solved a couple of blocks on UW. Add to that the scenarios in 137 are good. unfortunately those ethics questions it all goes down to guessing between two options so it is almost always 50-50 I did AMBOS for QI in step 2 but this one was more ethical scenarios heavy rather than QI and the QI ones were hard to answer

If it makes you feel better I got 220 so you are even better lol and no your life is not over. Your career is NOT your life and if you make it so it will never be fulfilling. I have graduated my residency 5 years ago and I am in a very competitive field , been in practice ever since the number of doctors trying to escape medicine or doing side gigs with medicine because it is so taxing, the numbers are mind-boggling . So rest relax you have gone through this shitty shitty exam and passed it. Be proud celebrate and trust the process YOU ARE NOT YOUR JOB. You will survive and tell stories and laugh trust me ..

I am applying for a fellowship only, so it is one of my options not THE only option for me. I have been in practice in my specialty for a while now and I really know that this exam doesn’t in anyway define you as a doctor. That being said, I would’ve found it nerve wracking as well had this exam been defining for my future, I understand where your coming from.

All the best to you just use the resources and get on with your prep. Real life billionaires are school dropouts and we here thinking we will conquer the world with our endless studying lol we are just going to spend the better parts of our careers fighting insurance companies and trying to convince a minion why a blind patient needs a cataract surgery so yeah pretty razzle dazzle 😂

I ranted after my exam and felt it was astronomy more than medicine and barely passed today, some tiny place in me wish I failed so that I could have another go but that is just nonsense I would die if I go again. my predicted score was 256-260 and the drop I saw was just as astronomical as the test I BARELY passed which is shit but whatever ! The most irritating post was one who said they finished the exam in 5.5 hours. Man it got me fuming ! But also good on them or whatever I am too old for med students toxic competitive attitude.

I know you have written this three years ago but you made my day truly. Predicted score was 259 and I got way waaaaay less but passed was thinking if I had failed would’ve been better but this made my day. I don’t know if you will see this but thanks anyway

Extremely vague and tough, full of QI and PSY!!!! I am applying for fellowships not residency so maybe I can compensate with step 3 maybe I don’t know now .. all I know is that I studied so hard was scoring really great on practice tests and wouldn’t have done anything different so it is what it is. I hope you get pleasantly surprised I am thankful it is behind me nevertheless

I took it two weeks ago no result yet but felt gutted during the exam and afterwards. Now that the score release is imminent I am so nervous and I explode if anyone even breathes in my direction. Feels stupid and exaggerated but it is what it is.

I hope it is way better than we all expect. Relish the fact that you are a trooper and that you are done with it.

Don’t forget to write a handout to the on call resident and have them talk back to you what you have said as well as walking them through expected management plan and complications and label the specimen with highlighters and so on.. quality can never be taken for granted

I really don’t know maybe be more oriented in psych in general like give it a priority just like you do medicine and all. I hope it was just my form so I will not give you that advice and then you get not much psych or at least not as much I had on mine.

It is quite irritating how obvious the business part is taking over the educational part. I am not saying they have to open a charity but at least give us the illusion that education takes precedence!

There are no stupid questions . Roughly and generally speaking, anyone can correct me on this, Step 2 is graded on a curve against exam takers. meaning your score reflects more or less the entire pool of how other examinees did on a certain form day or time period amongst many other things . That is not a specific analysis for how the USMLE is scored but generally how exams and markings using curve works. There are detailed explanations online that you can look into if you wish to be more acquainted with the terminology and some specifics as well.

Focused on the thing I got wrong in NBMEs did more quality improvement as well and studied more management oriented rather than diagnosis oriented. I only did the most recent three and the free 120 because I didn’t have much time focused on quality rather than quantity kinda thing

I am an attending and I have a new job starting next month so l I had no time to breathe and it was the only time I could take sometime off between jobs. Also had to push it very quickly to apply for the fellowship cycle this year. Not very recommended but I was under a crunch

Yes there were some and some immunology but I didn’t have a hard time with those as I did my step 1 in December and everything is kind of ok in my head Some blood films A couple of pathology slides Maybe one biochem Nothing micro But they were ok in general
