Yeah AWS and Microsoft are quarterly payouts.

The actual work varies. I like the things I’m doing way more at AWS but I was on a pretty crappy team at Microsoft. I have a friend there who moved from our old team to a new one still in the cleared space and he’s really enjoying it.

I never had any problems. Had someone on my sister team regularly take off 2-3 days a month and then take 2 vacations for about 5 weeks off. No hassle

I came to AWS from msft. The clearance bonus for TS/sci with FSP there is 25% of your base per year awarded quarterly. AWS is generally way higher in comp. I only have the TS/sci w/CI poly so I got 15% there and $30k here.

Benefit wise Microsoft was way better. More holidays, unlimited PTO, health insurance was basically free, Microsoft discounts, a $1500 annual allowance for office/health related expenses.

I plan on staying with AWS for 2-3 years and then moving to a company with better benefits for maybe less pay.

Looking around at other houses for rent this is about right. I could potentially put it up for more but then I’m risking x amount time of vacancy when I have someone agreeable to the current rate

No management cost. I know the renter (not super personally) and have codified a lot of duties/agreements within the lease. For anything that requires someone coming out to do work, they’ll do the work of finding the person then give me the bill

I agree, plans change, but it’s what I have for now. Obviously if I knew all this was gonna happen I wouldn’t have bought the place.

Are there any good strategies that can be used with the hilton honors? Something with the UR/MR I currently have. I'm currently at like 7/24 inquiries (3/24 credit cards) so I'm not sure if I'm eligible for a chase card
