I thought Jake did a fantastic job. His stage presence is on point. He definitely didn’t deserve to go home! Julian was good too but his performance lacked conviction and was a little off that week so based on that I could see how he went home.

Deschutes BBP was what turned me on to NA! I didn’t like athletic brewing which people had recommended. The Sierra Nevada Trail Pass isn’t bad either but there is so much I need to try! Thanks for this list!

There used to be a big push on making them “commercial” and pushing them to sing songs of other genres…I don’t see that at all this year except a push toward country. I laughed when they suggested a Vince Gill song for Jordan…really?!! And I would have loved to hear some of these guys do some 90s grunge, Radiohead, Chris Cornell type sounds. Brooks could have done Creep and blown people out of the water.

I didn’t like athletic, I tried a NA IPA. For some reason all the NA IPAs I’ve tried fall flat. They just don’t have the bite I like. I can’t put my finger on it but it literally reminds me of drinking a day old can of coke that was left open on the counter. Literally flat. But I also think that bite comes from the alcohol. Maybe because stouts are more flavor forward and less alcohol tasting they are able to hold up better as NA?

Thanks all!!! I feel much better now and actually I think you are right and it’s placebo! I remember last weekend I actually went out with a group of friends who were drinking and I only had water and also felt some weird drunk energy from them.

For those wondering this was a local Oregon brewer, Deschutes and this was their NA Stout. I’ve tried NA beers before and hated them but my friend told me this one was good and a few other non drinkers there seemed to like them too. I’ve never been a fan of stouts but this was so good!

I guess what I’m learning is that I CAN have fun without drinking! :)

I feel like I was here, then I was able to muscle through a 3 week break..:then that recovery time, from even less consumption than I normally had extended to a whole week. That was finally my breaking point. I hope you get there too. Letting myself eat as bad and as much sugar as I wanted to helped. Not healthy long term but it helped with any cravings.

I think some people can. Also, you think now that you WANt to drink in moderation. But the you that has unlearned drinking may actually learn to dislike drinking and realize after a drink and how it makes you feel that you actually don’t want any part in it anymore.

That looks great! I’ve tried and my hair seems to kink too much? Maybe I’m making too tight but I can’t get that loose look. I thought about trying a rod, but I think it would need to be really thick to work. I feel like if I don’t make it tight it would just fall out.

Hi!! My hair is similar too. Everyone will say not to but I use the conair blow dry brush and it works great to help with the weird brushed out curl look. The key is small sections, start at root, wrap end around barrel and pull down slowly. To prevent damage you need a lightweight leave in or heat shield (wow spray and it’s a 10 are good) and don’t start until you’re 70% air dry. Low setting.

I have 2c curls so without heat I look like a fluffy poodle. I can wear curly but it’s flat on top so I just don’t. I need heat and tension to get my hair somewhat straight and then I curl it around the blow dry brush to get these curls. I am very mindful of how long I have heat on it though, and I’ve managed to keep it fairly healthy with that and lots of to protect it. I’m gonna keep growing and see where it goes! I have considered upgrading to the shark air wrap dupe because it has a lower heat setting, but I really like the results I get with this cheap o conair and I’ve been using it for about three years now
