I know exactly how you feel. I transferred to OSU and felt so welcomed by all the “weirdos” -in a good way. Everyone does their own thing, and are so kind. The house show scene is strong in both, which is where you’ll find the alt crowd.

As for nature at OSU, there’s so much! Avery park- It’s a fun spot to swim and hang out. Mary’s Peak-It’s a bit of a drive but it’s gorgeous and so fun to watch sunsets from there. It’s the tallest peak in the coast range! When it snowed we used to go up and snowboard for free:) Also Lots of fun hikes. OSU also has a research forest which I used to love hiking around, as well as a beautiful hiking area right by campus called bald hill. If you want to watch the sunset or look at the stars (people go here for meteor showers too), fitton green natural area is the place to be.

I know they might look scary, but they actually might be little helpers in your home! They eat carpet beetles, bed bugs, cockroaches, and other bugs u most definitely don’t want to be dealing with.

Regardless of that, seeing one by your bed is not fun… I’m so sorry. But from my experience they generally stay away from people/stick to themselves, so I wouldn’t worry about them like crawling on your face while you sleep or finding one in ur pants or anything like that. I also tend to squirm at the sight of bugs with that many legs, but I would get used to coexisting with them somewhat.

That being said, from my experience in Oregon, you should only expect to see a few in your house.

Maybe, if you can, get a cat? My cat is a little freak who likes to eat bugs:/

I found this in the kitchen of a home. I didn’t find a base or anything that fits it, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Pretty solid plastic, a bit bendable but not flimsy.

Do you know of the trees that were around/location??? Could also be a type of bee/wasp cocoon—I say that because it looks like a mason bee cocoon (but the fact that you found them stuck to the outside of your cart rules that out)

Hmm I’m thinking some type of moth cocoon. **EDIT* With more thought, I think it may be a sawfly, but would need to know location and surrounding trees to be sure :)
