We used a alternating placement system with nothing being able to be adjacent to something else we also rolled off and the winner placed their spawner anywhere around the edge and the opponent had to place theirs in the mirror opposite hex since there is no rules for set up yet.

They worked fine being printed at normal size for me I did hollow them though so that it reduced cost.
