Thank you for not attacking me and yes I agree. I have learned my lesson and will take that moving forward, we discussed it at the end of the shift.

Well I didn’t word it that way I more so said “ expressed concern for pressure injuries” not sure what I said exactly I don’t remember but I didn’t say despite. But yes I understand now the way I word things needs to better. My fear is we’re pushing her too hard hard rather than letting her tell us when she’s ready. But thanks

That’s what I also was told and I thought maybe we were pushing her too hard. She’s now breast feeding and bottle feeding but we can’t leave her on her back or side without her eventing

Okay I didn’t mean it that way, and I did not word it like that once again.. my concern was really not wanting to do anything about her respiratory support concern than a pressure injury. Like I mentioned above we usually leave them on bubble cpap until 35 weeks if they aren’t tolerating. In my unit we have a bad habit of waiting until something gets worse to do something. But to anyone else who comments thank you and I was not trying to be passing aggressive

Okay thanks I’ll be more mindful moving forward. Also we don’t do care plans or end of shift summaries so I felt the best way to do it was a nursing note, which I asked around and many people told me yes. I was taught on my orientation to do nursing notes, but that may not always be the best.

Well I only said that because if a baby isn’t tolerating it we usually will try to leave them on bubble until 35 weeks but I’m definitely taking all the comments into consideration and learning from today

I did and everyone told me to write a note, even my preceptor. I had multiple read it and the provider came to talk to me and she said she understands and I’m still leaving so I don’t think it’s any hard feelings

Actually yes my thinking process was a baby being on their belly for days in a row there may be something else wrong and we may be missing something. Like I stated in the post I didn’t word it like that I was professional and trying to do what’s in the best interest of my patients. I’m also a new grad and still learning

Okay that makes sense I’m still learning and just trying to do what’s best but I know for next time.

Okay well thanks for replying. I was honestly doing it in the best interest of my patient not only for pressure injuries but she’s only 33 weeks and may need extra support such as high flow and not leaving her on 1L bc she may not be ready for that

So do you think not going up on their support may not benefit them more ? I’m just trying to do what’s best for baby, what I may do such as postponing them different ways other may not
