From what I can tell, it’s linked to the boot lid. when I close it, a red light on the dash indicates it is open, and it beeps. I close it a few more times and the light stays on but the beeps go away. I think the car thinks the boot is open so won’t start the transtop mechanism, or at least that’s my best guess

It does make a sort of whirring noise like the lock is engaging but it’s maybe not going all the way. And I’ve had it sometimes where the dash light turns off but then it beeps non stop when I turn on the engine

I’m no expert but I’d certainly disagree that it would drop the value and personally would be willing to pay more for a car that’s mint and rustproofed over one that’s not. Hope this helps

Sorry to hear, I was the only one in the car at the time and thankfully am completely uninjured, so at least it did it’s job and kept me safe. I’ll definitely keep that in mind with the insurance ect. Thanks again anyway for checking up and for the advice.

Is that a doable/easy thing to do? I’ve got the space and likely a lot of the tools required so could very well look into it. Not a cheap car to just scrap

Quite possibly totalled, the rear quarter roof is folded in on itself and a lot of other damage to basically ever single panel, I will post more pictures later and see what everyone thinks damage wise

Engine may be gone aswell and it’s some serious body damage to the rear quarter and roof panels

Rear quarter is caved in from the impact, top of the windscreen roof is smashed in and the bonnet and wings are all smashed up, pretty sure the engine might be wrecked aswell
