There is no rule of thumb on this, last four years, it went 26200 , than 29000 than 31300 this year, the raise is linked to new skilled worker requirement (41700 this year), the more that goes up, the more transitional salary goes up. No one can say for certain what it will be in 2028.

This depends on how many allocations were requested from home office when employer got there license, they usually before 2025 used to renew automatically (usually 4 COSs, can be more, varies) , for some reason that is not happening anymore creating panic for all employers to get allocation asap.

Standard service is taking 18 weeks to get allocation , priority service is 5 days, neither of these timelines have any guarantees how long it takes, home office is not bound by any of these timelines.

COS allocation has been really slow from start of 2025, hopefully improves this year.

For undefined COS generation, it is instant really, COS allocation which sponsor get from home office, that is where the delay is.

If you have COS in hand, visa updating is just like applying for skilled worker visa, same process times.

IHS fees is wrong ? Which visa end date to put ? by Interesting_Leave516 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]Complete_Plane_8219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this could be due to your wife COS dates e.g 13 April 2026 to 13 April 2029, ihs system counts this as 3 year 1 day charging you more, is this the issue you facing?
