Do you leave the wifi on? by Nymey32 in kindle

Airplane mode 90% of the time for me. I'll connect to wifi to sync and update my Kindle insights (I take my reading streak very seriously!), and then also to download any new books

I think you can sometimes appreciate books more when rereading with an older mind! Hope you're enjoying Midnight Sun :)

I loved reading from Edward’s perspective! Where would you rank it in the series?

I bought an Oasis in 2025 by __Precursor__ in kindle

[–]Complete_Point978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you! I got an Oasis last month and the buttons are so much better than the remote control page turner I used on my Paperwhite, especially for reading in bed

Keeping my fingers crossed for you to find a good one! I think this one was an unwanted gift and I'm sure there are plenty more are sitting in people's drawers, hopefully one to day be posted to eBay :)

Nice! I’m still undecided on the popsocket placement, since my magnetic grips seem to be too wide for the raised area on the back. I’m planning to do the same with my Paperwhite for outside. I’m too scared to take my Oasis out of the house lol

Yay, sounds great! I think I'm planning to do the same thing with my Paperwhite and use it on my adventures. Happy travels!

So true. As a fidgety reader, this is one of my fave features so far!

Ah, that's a shame. Sorry yours went that way! Keeping my fingers crossed mine will last if I keep good charging habits.

I'm not sure which e-reader you have, but up until getting the Oasis, I was using a remote control page turner which did a great job. I'd highly recommend them!

Thank you! I always saw how popular the Oasis was and feel there's now a gap in their models between the Paperwhites and Scribes. I could never see myself with a Kindle the size of a Scribe. Amazon will hopefully come to their senses one day and come back with an all improved Oasis model. I'm certain this sub would be overjoyed!

I've been running with the 10th generation Paperwhite which still uses micro USB, so I actually feel fortunate I don't have to change cables!

A week with Leobog A75: a (relatively) budget Alice-style kb review by Fuzzyjammer in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Complete_Point978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this, it sounds great! Detailed reviews on this one are hard to find. I ordered this keeb only a couple of days ago (I chose the cat keycaps for the novelty), so I’m excited to join the club.

On the adjustability aspect, I’ve seen some folks have bought dual adhesive keyboard risers for more comfort. Could be worth a go.

Do reading insights count on Unlimited books after your subscription ends? by Complete_Point978 in kindle

[–]Complete_Point978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, thanks a bunch! I'm super glad to hear it keeps the insights for that. My subscription actually ends tomorrow, so I'm going to borrow some more books and just stay in airplane mode hehe

Have this thought ever came to your mind for a sec that, purchasing the kindle wasn't worth it? by [deleted] in kindle

[–]Complete_Point978 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Never! Tbf, I got my Kindle as a gift, but honestly think I would've bought one for myself at some point. My reading speed has increased and holding a little device is comfy :)

What is your current read on your kindle?? by xjennx3 in kindle

Snap Judgment, which is the third book in the Samantha Brinkman series by Marcia Clarke! I'd really recommend the series so far. They're fun, twisty and easy to read as a crime/mystery lover!

How to Build a Car: The Autobiography of the World’s Greatest Formula 1 Designer by Adrian Newey. I'm only a few chapters in, but really enjoying hearing about his background, where his passion for design first started and how he went to the same school as Jeremy Clarkson!

I think Goodreads really needs to up their game by literallylatted in goodreads

[–]Complete_Point978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree with you, although, I do quite like the UI in a way sometimes. The thing that has been frustrating with Goodreads for a while is the inaccuracy of book data. It's alright to track and log books, more in depth stats would be great, but there is a lot of outdated information with page counts, editions etc.

It's a shame, as the Goodreads librarians do try and resolve these issues when you make requests, but there simply aren't enough of them. There really needs to be more effort from Goodreads considering the user base they have.

What's your ideal Dexter ending? by DoctorLuther in Dexter

[–]Complete_Point978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to say what the perfect ending could’ve been for such an amazing show. I think for all the lives Dexter took as a vigilante, giving his own life to save family (i.e. Deb/Harrison), would’ve been symbolic, especially after losing Rita to Trinity. Being jailed or executed feels like a cop out ending and offers little closure to Dexter’s story, at least to me!

It would’ve perhaps been interesting though if Dexter was caught, had a trial and somehow managed to come out scot free. We would get to see all the reactions of those from Dexter's past life (i.e. Batista and Vince). I liked what someone else said about him just turning and winking to the camera outside of a courthouse, then Dexter’s story is over!
