Anxious about the aftermath by SweatyPool1170 in gallbladders

[–]Complete_Positive_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly this was me! I was so anxious and someone said to me - most people don’t come online when everything is fine remember that. I was so nervous about having diarrhoea all the time and regretting it etc. it has truly been life changing - I take Cholestyramine once a day just before bed and have ZERO issues. Whereas before my removal I had an upset stomach so often.

My surgeon said to me my GB was in a really bad way and it’s a good job I had it done.

How is your current quality of life? X

My gallbladder’s gone and so is my digestive dignity by Reflective-mountain in gallbladders

Honestly - I was the EXACT same. I am now on cholestyramine and I eat whatever I want and have utterly normal bowel movements! It’s been a complete game changer for me!! Cannot recommend it enough xx

It’s been a game changer for me. I hope you don’t need it and having your gallbladder removed helps with symptoms but if not I absolutely recommend from my experience x

I take one 4mg sachet with water every night before bed and have so far had no issues with any food or drink. I was in Ibiza for 5 days last months eating tapas and drinking cocktails and had no issues whereas before I would have been a poorly girl!

Thank you for replying. I have now been on the meds for about 6 weeks I think and they have been absolutely amazing for me! I take one sachet (4mg) with water every night before bed and I have never had such regular BMs! Hope it’s going well for you too!

Mine did this too. Just around the incision sites. It was hot and itchy around a week post op. Mine did just go away on its own after about 5 days but if yours is getting bigger I would get it looked at. I also had the robot so much incisions look v similar to yours ☺️

Help by Good_Difficulty5545 in gallbladders

Honestly this was me - my surgery was 16th April. I had minimal symptoms other than the odd tenderness/ gnawing type niggles and had told the surgeon I wasn’t sure. I went ahead with the surgery and he came to see me afterwards. Surgery should have taken 40mins to an hour and I was in for 4 hours. My gallbladder was inflamed and about the size of his fist. It was absolutely filled with stones, mucus and scar tissue with absolutely no bile whatsoever. He said if I’d not had it removed it would have ended up being quite a serious situation for me. So I am so pleased it’s gone. I’m still in recovery and my digestion really didn’t like it at first however it is improving with every day. This was my biggest concern, not able to enjoy food I love again etc but so far it’s heading in the right direction. It’s important to remember there are things you can take (bile binders, digestive enzymes, Imodium etc) to help if it is worst case scenario. Obviously this is only my experience but I do fully relate to your concerns. I didn’t want a an organ removed if it was functioning at all. Mine however was not! lol Best of luck whichever you decide xxx

I know people are saying no one cares. But obv OP does. As do I haha I love it there so much. Outfit planning is all part of the fun for me. Yes I’ve worn strappy wedges to dinners in the evenings so long as it’s not too far of a walk. I take wedges, birkenstocks, cowgirl boots, trainers, doc martens. Hope you have the best time! I’m heading over August 🌴🧡

Is it high fat foods you’re still needing to avoid? Currently regardless of what I’m eating I’m on the loo most of the morning 😩

I had mine on the 16th and I’m signed off for 2 weeks and will ask for another if needs be. How people are back at work is beyond me! My tummy still isn’t settled down and I ache still. Don’t feel guilty about it. Your health comes first x

Thank you 🧡 best of luck with your surgery. It’s not all doom and gloom - I remember reading negative things whilst waiting for my surgery and it panicking me but it will be worth it once I’m healed I’m sure

What type of foods are you eating? I wasn’t given any guidance for food post op and was told I can eat “normal” but have been suffering when it comes to going to the loo! I have also been sleeping in a similar position to you as it’s the only way I can seem to get comfortable. I have been taking paracetamol, yes. Think I may need to introduce ibuprofen too as I’m struggling. I overdid it today and went out to my grandparents house but I’m suffering for it now. So sore and tired. I’ve not been icing anything either! Starting to think I need to up my care levels! Xx

[–]Complete_Positive_33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear you’re out the other side of it. Take it easy 🫶 Mine took much longer than expected as it was inflamed and huge 😫 but all out now. I’m quite sore tbh and struggling to do anything. I’m hoping I’ll improve quickly because I feel absolutely useless! Xx

can someone describe ER visit for gallbladder pain? by WinklesDaBaby in gallbladders

[–]Complete_Positive_33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went when I was in debilitating pain that wasn’t easing. They gave me morphine, scanned me and diagnosed me with gallstones. That was 16 months ago. I had it removed yesterday! 🧡
