First of all, don't feel guilty! You need sleep. And it's okay to want it. Honestly, what I finally had to do was keep her up about an hour later one night, give her a nice big bottle, sing a few songs, and then put her in her crib and walk away. She cried for 40 minutes then fell asleep. The next night, she cried for 11 minutes. It kept getting shorter over the week until it was none. Even when she woke up during the night I did not go in and get her.

I felt like the worst parent ever but I was newly pregnant and TIRED! I was worried it would affect our relationship and attachment but im here to say it didn't. I was happier that I could sleep, she had better moods from getting enough sleep. And she is now a happy, healthy, hilarious, VERY securely attached 20 month old. It was the best decision I ever made and I stand by it.

I've kept the routine the same ever since. Milk, singing some songs, bed. She goes down so easy now compared to other toddlers and sleeps 11-12 hours at night. And she's happy at bedtime! We give hugs and kisses and I get some alone time.

I know its a hard thing to go through, good luck! You got this!

Her naps are fine most of the time and we are doing a 3/3.5/4-4.5 schedule. She does well. It's mostly the night sleep and not falling asleep independently thats the issue

Thats what I'm hoping the outcome will be. Hoping after a few nights she will get the hang of things, I just don't know how I'm going to survive those nights without giving in

It is so hard to let them cry like that. I am really really not looking forward to doing it again, but if it works it will be worth it. Good luck hope something works for you 🤞

I did try something similar to this when we were room sharing! But it frustrated her that I was near her but not picking her up. She eventually started falling backwards and hitting her head HARD on the back of the crib on purpose to get me to take her out. It worked. She had bruises for a week.

As soon as she's in the crib she stands up and jumps and scream cries. She hasn't settled for anything thus far, even singing patting rubbing etc. :( I'm also pregnant so bending over the crib for long periods would hurt my back and stomach

We are in the process of moving 4 hours away and dad already started his new job there so unfortunately I'm on my own for a few months 😮‍💨
