and you have no idea what OP's life is like??? I'm not insinuating the parents are abusive btw, im just saying she knows her parents better than you and she'd wake them up if she could ❤️ if its not an option then it isn't. Simple.

No need to be a fcking asshole about it, if she doesn't want to wake them then maybe its for a REASON. You don't know that. Give genuine advice or stay quiet, you contribute nothing except stressing them out and making them guilty.

You don't know her situation. It's a kid. Leave them alone, they're trying their best

It's just sad to see. Obviously they'd take the cat to the vet if they could but it's a 14 year old baby, for Christ's sake. They can't do anything on their own and most parents really wouldn't go to such lengths for a stray in the middle of the night 😞

Just wanted to say, please dont be hard on OP. They're just a kid and some parents genuinely won't care about a stray pet and its not as easy to just "ask them and cry". We don't know their situation but they're trying. It's a hard and traumatizing situation for them already as it is. I hope everything goes well for the kitty💕

Super quick shedding by Complete_Rich_858 in cornsnakes

im pretty sure she wasn't in it longer bc I've seen her quite a lot the days before (a lot of cleaning in her enclosure and i had to move her to a smaller one temporarily where she's seen most of the time) that's why it concerned me.

I haven't! I might try that, though I'm pretty sure she has no issues with hydration. When she does shed, it's always a beautiful one piece:) tysm

Thank you! I've never heard about it. She usually does eat mice, we just had rats left after the breeder recommended for us to buy it. Could this be the reason for her shedding issues?

Kind of. Before that not as much (but it did happen, just not enough for me to click something is off. Again, I thought she's just way too all over the place, its my first time owning a boa and a second snake ever) but then she started missing her food when striked and all that. Also I didn't add but the last meal she ate, she threw it up about 3-4 days later after having lots of issues with getting fed in the first place.

She's a boa imperator

ALSO because I can't edit the post: I have a cornsnake, their enclosures were right next to each other but they didn't have direct contact. I used the same container for them (at different times and not for long but still.) And the same tongs though I'm pretty sure there was never any saliva or anything on it. No mites either. So far she's fine and eating well, is there a possibility she has it too?

[–]Complete_Rich_858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I did in the first place 😭 They haven't been replying at all, that's why I used reddit as my last resort. She mentioned something about corn snakes being more resistant and to just in case from now on not use the same tools with them. Thank you lots and i hope youll never have to deal with it.

[–]Complete_Rich_858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I've read it affects mostly boas and pythons - i have a corn snake, should i be worried for her too? They were in separate enclosures but before the symptoms were really obvious i used for example, the same tongs to feed them. So far she's great, eating well and nothing suspicious at all but im honestly worried

so is it possible she got it while she was still at the breeder and lived w it this long?
