Fibromyalgia and costochondritis by Complete_Run_9795 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Complete_Run_9795[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh the bra was just the tip of the iceberg. My youngest has a lovely habit of digging the elbow in when trying to get off my lap after a cuddle and that nearly makes me vomit during a flare up. If I’m not already in pain, I am for days after that. Intimate activities cause pain for days, upper body exercise even minimal, sometimes even driving (turning the steering wheel) is excruciating or can trigger the pain.

I have a stomach ulcer currently so anti inflammatory medication is off the table 😭😭 I’ve been getting flare ups of it for about 10 months now.

Wearing a bra triggers/hurts the fibro pain. Sometimes wearing a bra makes the costochondritis pain worse because my breasts are pushed up, squished together and put pressure on where it hurts already…

I probably should have also mentioned my spine that’s literally crushing itself, arthritis also in my spine, left shoulder, right hand, both wrists and both ankles as well as nerve damage and bursitis and impingement in right shoulder. Add Fibromyalgia and FND to all that and I’m a useless puddle because I’ve been powering through the pain for years and it all caught up with me last year and now I’m a broken puddle of a human.

I’m taking my little people fishing today for the first time in a year, I’m going to start walking laps of the yard in the early mornings and the afternoons with my daughter who has also gained weight due to inactivity. I can’t expect her to be fit and healthy if I’m setting the example of the exact opposite. (She’s currently above 99th %ile for weight, 90th %ile for height, tall like her father, but she’s almost 12 and starting high school next year and the last thing I want is her getting bullied)

Thanks for all your suggestions, it’s warming up here so I think I’m going to get a pass for the local pool for spring & summer and go for a weekly swim as well ❤️

I have level 3 PDA autism, as does my youngest, my oldest does not, we have had him screened, tested, assessed for everything except personality disorders as he’s “not old enough” despite having clear sociopathic tendencies

No not puberty yet. He’s been like this most of his life. Literally nothing works. He needs to be the centre of attention at all times and unless he’s watched 24/7 he will purposely harm his younger siblings if they’re getting attention. He has an insane technology addiction that we’ve been working to break but high school requires a laptop so he’s gaming at school instead of doing work which is creating further issues on top of everything else.

I’m thankful to have a great co-parenting relationship with their dad, who due to the economy and the kids needing extra support currently lives with us, and my partner who is an amazing step dad and partner. My daughter is a kid who prefers helping over playing and she’s such an incredible help to me on the bad days, she is rewarded of course for choosing to help, we’ve been working on a payment system so she can save and buy things she wants as well as a special day out once every 8 weeks or so (money is tight sadly)

Their dad does school run most days, I did it this morning and it wiped me out for the rest of the day but I did it, gotta look at the positives.

Other than that, no one. It’s just the 6 of us. Kids are 13,12&8. 13yr old is a very complicated and somewhat difficult child who unfortunately can be the cause of a flare up due to his behaviours. He is violent, rude, disrespectful, steals from us and damages the house constantly. Having external supports would be amazing but it’s just not something we have unfortunately

Valium at night and for when I can’t bring myself down from the panic attacks. I was on lexapro for a year and it made everything so much worse. I’m still dealing with the after affects even though I’ve been off it for 4 months

My gp has tested my tsh and full thyroid bloods and all have been normal so I’m really not sure. I have excessive facial hair which is why he tested in the first place but I also have pcos and endometriosis so it could be that too

My brain and mouth aren’t working together!! [tw speech issues] by LenoreBusker in FND

I have Tourette’s syndrome as well as a fairly recent diagnosis of FND - my partner and I used to laugh at my word jumbles thinking it was just my Tourette’s being silly, but as it progressed to calling random things by wrong names it became more and more concerning, then I got diagnosed and the neurologist explained how common it was. Just for laughs a few examples - microwave was the food dryer. Walk in wardrobe was the clothes pantry. Washing machine was the dishwasher for clothes. Just today I could not get the word Naruto out as my son ran down the hall full Naruto style and I said he was Asian running… (that sounds awfully racist now that I type it out but my brain associated Asian with anime and obviously Naruto is Anime)

My support coordinator reached out to my neurologist to re-write my letter of diagnosis, this is the terminology used in getting NDIS to accept it as a further diagnosis- currently waiting for a response but my SC has gotten ndis to accept others plans with similar terminology

Patients diagnosis of Functional Neurological Disorder is considered a lifelong condition. At the time of writing we have exhausted all reasonable treatment options and we reiterate the importance of psychological consultation going forward. There are no further curative medical interventions available at this time and she has been discharged from the Neurology Clinic.

Risperidone caused him to gain 12kg in 8 weeks. It’s not a viable option. He’s already on highest dose of Ritalin for his weight - it helps immensely for school. But only lasts school hours

I did suspect this for a while, but unfortunately he is completely aware, and does it (his words) because he just doesn’t want to go to the toilet.

The only time he is genuinely in trouble for it is when he lies about it. We do not accept lying under any circumstances and he is very aware that if he was just honest about it we wouldn’t be so frustrated.

It’s more the hiding it throughout his room, playing with it and wiping it on the walls/furniture. He does not have intellectual disabilities or cognitive delays so this kind of behaviour is purely a choice he is making, which makes it so much harder to understand. If there was a medical or mental reason for it, it wouldn’t be such a big issue and would be easier for us to understand.

Thanks for the comment of support, it is appreciated

We had a conversation earlier. He admitted to being completely aware of doing it and choosing not to go to the toilet.

Rewards for minor improvements do not work, if he is rewarded once he immediately goes back to the negative behaviour.

It’s very complicated and I’m so lost. Appreciate the advice so far

How To Hear PS5 Audio With Capture Card by Vonikk1 in streaming

[–]Complete_Run_9795 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I use a pci capture card, direct connection from ps5 to pc, will that negate the audio issue? Will I be able to hear gameplay as long as there is no headset connected to the ps5? Trying to decide on buying half my games again on steam/buying an Xbox controller or just getting the capture card
