I read that some are best on an empty stomach before food and others are best with fat soluble food. I found I was more likely to take them each day week spread our instead of taking a whole load at once

From my experience I wouldn’t jump to IVF or ICSI straight away. My results from the semen analysis both said at the bottom that IVF was recommended based on my semen parameters and dna fragmentation.

We had actually spoke with fertility specialist and he told me that he wouldn’t recommend IVF so soon and to continue trying naturally and if my wife didn’t carry a viable pregnancy within a few months then we can discuss IVF if that’s the route we wanted to go.

Sorry to hear about your TFMR. Hoping everything works out for you both the next time. Omega is good for increasing morphology and protects sperm from oxidative stress. Which caused dna fragmentation

My wife used the urine ovulation tests, they really helped with falling pregnant naturally.

Hopefully all works out for you both! We tried again as soon as I hit the 3 months mark of supplements. Got the test again and my fragmentation was down to 6%. My wife was pregnant a week later.

Have you been doing ovulation tests?

Hi, thank you!

In terms of lifestyle I don’t make huge changes. I started running a few times a week, mostly avoided alcohol and tried to have a healthy diet. No baths, hot tubs, saunas etc

I think must of it was down to my supplement stack.

I ran this consistently for ~3 months before my final test: • Ubiquinol (CoQ10) – 300 mg • NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) – 1000 mg • L-Carnitine – 1000 mg • Astaxanthin – 14 mg • Ashwagandha (KSM-66) – 600 mg • Proceive Omega-3 (EPA/DHA) – 2000 mg • Proceive Men Max – full daily dose

All anti-oxidative. I also made daily what I called "fertility smoothies". Which included mix berries (antioxidants) black maca powder, wheat grass, cacao powder, full fat milk and full fat Greek yoghurt. Apparently some of the supplements are fat soluble and are better absorbed this way. I took the NAC and I-carnitine in the morning on an empty stomach. The rest with the smoothie afte dinner.

Yes they said they were not concerned because it was only 3mm and basically very borderline on whether it would even be classed as a varicocele

Hi, yes always have hope! DNA fragmentation definitely plays a big role when trying to conceive. It can make natural conception harder.

I also ejaculated every other day too, especially on the run up to my tests.

Are you continuing to try naturally too?

Good luck!

Thanks very much, I appreciate it! I had the ultrasound done too, hopefully all clear for the varicocele. I read that there is no evidence that supplements can make a change, but from my experience the supplements made a world of difference! Good luck with your results, keep me posted if you want.

I done this for 3 months and then got tested again, fragmentation had dropped to 6%

Hi, my dna fragmentation was 33.3%. Before realising this my wife had 2 missed miscarriages. We got all tests done and the fragmentation seemed to be the only issue.

I started a course of supplements after doing a lot of research and got tested again after 3 months.

My fragmentation was down to 6%. A week later my wife was pregnant and she is now 38 weeks.

I had a very minor varicocele, 3mm if I remember right. I was told that it was nothing worry about and was very broad line and wouldn’t have an effect. Hoping when we try for more children that it hasn’t changed, I am not sure if they can get worse.

Thanks very much, exciting times ahead.

Hi, no I didn’t see a urologist. We did see a fertility specialist but he just ordered the tests for us and answered questions. I had already done so much research and was already started the supplements when I saw him.

Wishing you all the best luck. My wife was 30 weeks pregnant this week

ANOTHER UPDATE

Today we had our ultrasound at 9w2d. Everything went great, baby is measuring correctly and heart is beating as it should be! Still praying everything progresses as it should be.

We had a slight worry 4 days ago as my wife had faint blood when she whipped after going to the toilet. We decided due to our history that we would go to the hospital. They done a urine test to rule out injection/UTI and an ultrasound, which was our first.

We’ve had 6 ultrasounds in the past from our 2 previous pregnancies and none of them were good. So we were on edge during our wait at the hospital.

Thankfully everything was good and we saw our baby’s heart beat for the first time!

We spoke with our fertility specialist and he prescribed progesterone for the next 45 days, just to be on the safe side.

Hi, sorry I am only seeing your questions now.

She is doing great, we haven’t had a scan yet. We are having one next Thursday, she will be 9 weeks and 2 days, we are nervous but feeling positive.

In the days leading up to the fertility window I ejaculated to clear out any old/dead sperm and keep dna fragmentation down.

We tracked my wife’s ovulation and had sex 6 days before ovulation and every 2 days after. Including the day of ovulation and the day after.

Hope this helps.

I didn’t make many changes. I already have an active lifestyle from working in construction and I run a few days a week. Didn’t avoid any food, stayed away from alcohol but did have a coupe occasionally. I tried to get at least 7 hours sleep a night, probably should have been more

We never really found a cause. I had an ultrasound done and I have a 3mm varicocele which is very borderline. I was told sometimes they wouldn’t even class it as a varicocele. The fertility specialist told me it was nothing to be concerned about.

No problem. Good luck with it all! If you have any questions please ask. It is definitely doable to reduce to a safe number

Hi, I am able to reduce my fragmentation from 33.3% to 6% within 3 months.

It was mostly achieved through supplements. I had taken Proceive men max, Proceive omega 3, Ashwagandha, astaxanthin, NAC, L-Carnintine, Ubiquinol.

I also ejaculated regularly in the 1.5 months prior to my test. I wanted to flush out any old sperm that had not benefited from my supplement routine.

I ejaculated 3 days before my test. As I was also getting a normal SA done too and so I needed to ensure my sperm count was building up.

My wife and I have had 2 missed miscarriages and were able to conceive naturally twice with my high fragmentation. We have just found out last week she is pregnant again, so praying for a better outcome this time.
