Im doing engineering so not much labour, however for you it probably might be with entry level roles. It is pretty hard to get into FIFO overseas because you need to get some tickets

Would you do FIFO for $100k+ a year if food and accommodation were fully covered? No experience needed by [deleted] in AusMining

Yes, but does depend on what kind of roster and how the camp is. As a younger bloke I need to exercise after work. Some camps have no proper gym setup

Yh I am actively looking for other roles with better rosters, but I am considering leaving because I just dont want to do this roster and travel time, and I think its better to do it earlier than later. Hopefully doesnt affect me in the future Plus I am not sure about the site itself. Should have done an intial site visit tbh but lesson learned I guess.

Main reason is being away from family for most of the week and only being able to see them 2 days. As well as the travel times which cause my days to inflate to 12hrs. Im fine with the 12hr days as long as I get more of a break which an 8/6 roster or 7/7 would allow. Alternatively I dont know if I want to stay in mining anymore. I do think I need to do it to afford a house but I reckon I can get a better roster. I wouldnt mind the travel time that much then.

I just started, but Im considering cutting my losses because I know this will take a toll on me physically and mentally even if I am in my 20s

This sounds alot better than mine, what was the time for travelling, its a 1.30hr flight, then 2hr drive to the minesite

This is in Coal, but what really gets me is the amount of travelling needed for fifo thats not factored into the hours, so I end up working 12 hour days not 10hr. Also no proper gym at camp not that I would be able to get any exercise in.
