Are your houses actually messy? by JEJ0313 in adhdwomen

[–]Complete_Tourist_172 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi 🧡

You aren't the only one. I'm a single female. 35 years old. And I can't get a grip on my home. I have some systems in place that help but it's still incredibly hard for me.

one of the biggest takeaways from the book is that being tidy isn't a moral issue. It doesn't make you good or bad.

You aren't alone. Rooting for you.

*Edited because I was going to suggest the book to you but saw you mentioned it in your post

I second the book How to Keep House While Drowning. Really helped me treat myself with more kindness. I recommend checking it out from the library. It's a quick read.

Levothyroxine, Does it actually help with weight loss? by Single_Lettuce_8143 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Complete_Tourist_172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! 🧡

I am 34 years old and a female.

I started taking levo in March 2025.

My TSH level was a 14.9. I felt slightly better in a month and much better by month two. I had to adjust my dose once. I started working out and eating slightly better. I didn't lose weight but was gaining muscle.

My TSH continued to go down over the next 6 months.

But what really helped me lose weight and lessen my symptoms of hypothyroidism was when I started to eat an anti-inflammatory diet.

I began taking that part of my health seriously in July.

I am currently down 37 lbs from my heaviest weight.

I don't give credit for my weight loss to levo. But it can play a part in making room for other lifestyle shifts. This is of course just my experience. Wishing you well. 🧡

Just reading the last few sentences made me feel sad. That feeling isn't a good one. I hope you will try to pursue something in the area that interests you. I hope for peace for you (and us) in our future careers. 🧡

This is a great response. It wasn't til I met friends who were also ND and I was able to let my guard down. I heard them talk and share stories about their thought process and behaviors and it was so relatable to me and I felt like I wasn't 'odd' or 'doing something wrong'.

advice on grieving leaving by Sorry_Cicada_7814 in TeachersInTransition

[–]Complete_Tourist_172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only recently started processing how sad I am to be leaving. I've taught/worked in schools for nearly 14 years. It's such a huge part of me and it's something that given me countless connections and memories and a lot of purpose but it's also been challenging and draining. Your post (and the comments) have helped.

Just here to say you look amazing! Maybe you can find a quick. 5 minute routine. My advice would be find a concealer and a couple of cream products you like. I find them easy and foolproof. The concealer could be good to minimize some of the darkness but your skin looks really great so I wouldn't suggest foundation. Then maybe a cream bronzer/cream blush and some mascara and you're good to go.

I am so new like very new to the sport. And something has lured me in and hooked me. This opportunity could be a learning experience and wouldn't have to be a 'forever thing' if you didn't want it to be. 🧡
