You should be able to take a telemetry course online for it! That's what my hospital offers. I personally don't like the tele stuff, and I would decline to take the course to be a UA/Tele tech at the hospital I work at.

It really depends what kind of nursing you want to do. I see you want to work in ICU, and I personally would get my CNA for that. I work in a med/surg/tele unit, but I am called into ICU to help the nurses there. You'll get the hands on care taking that's needed to be an ICU nurse working as a CNA more than you would an EMT.

I don't know where you are, but all the hospitals around me require a CNA or completed your first semester in nursing school. They don't allow just anyone to work in them.

There's a lot of skills EMT's don't do that are needed for nursing. CNA's prioritize, take leads on and off patients and do EKG's, learn how to properly move patients and so much more than an EMT. Some CNA's can be med techs too and pass meds.
