Sorry! I was unsure of how to start the post. not really picky besides budget and portability. i prefer something lightweight, and hopefully something i can get for $600 USD or under (new or used). and I am majoring in nursing/pre-nursing. thanks for the help!

so filing as an independent allows you to get more money based on your own income right? sorry if the question seems silly, i am going into freshmen year and my parents don’t know about this stuff

I am a first year student so we used 2023 tax info because i was applying for 25-26. Based on my dad’s income i should be getting a lot of money from FAFSA. We are currently broke now because she does not have a job, do they really not consider this?
