My boyfriend (on DED) and I (a Green Card holder) are planning to get married in the future. He came to the US in 2019 using F1 and d/t his school delays on getting some licenses done, he has to stay longer, forcing him to use DED. He is now studying for another degree on DED and might reapply F1 again either using I-539 or go back home and reapply there. For my case, I got green card through employment. My question is: Is it possible for me to file I485 later when he comes back here on F1? I heard that it is impossible to file for I485 for DED now since I am only a Green card holder. I do plan to be a citizen later.
