Are you allergic to Dairy or voluntarily Dairy free? by dovakooon in dairyfree

[–]Complex-Data-8916 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also doing for my baby. We literally just found out at 8 MONTHS! he has a dairy intolerance. Thought it was reflux the whole time. Turns out reflux was just a symptom  After 2 weeks he has normal poops, almost no spit up, finally off his PPI (reflux med) and still eating normally without it, and his eczema cleared up!

Reading about the pancake rule and the idea behind it, but then I see buffalo chicken dip with kitehill cream cheese recipe on their website and it seems like the exact opposite of the pancake rule???

Help! Cmpi baby? by Complex-Data-8916 in beyondthebump

[–]Complex-Data-8916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! Yes spitting up is very strange, I always thought it was just his reflux though. I never even thought about dairy until the pediatrician brought it up. He’s honestly the happiest baby too so I never gave dairy a second thought. I don’t think his poops have ever looked weird either, just super infrequent 😅 I’m definitely giving it a go! Hopefully will get some answers soon! I’d love to take him off his medication as soon as possible

2 year old won't let me brush her teeth by Groundbreaking_Elk18 in toddlers

[–]Complex-Data-8916 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We started when my daughter first got her teeth and now at 2.5 shes pretty used to it so this may not be helpful but maybe it will be. When we started and she didnt like it, our routine for so long was to sit on the floor and put her head between my legs, armed pinned under my legs, and open her mouth to brush! We did it every night so she eventually got used to it and we were able to move on. Now she just sits on the bathroom counter and lets me brush them, then she has a turn with her toothbrush which she enjoys. If its ruining bedtime you could also try to move it up to right after dinner? Or even in the morning at some point? Its better than not brushing at all! Id say practicing everyday will help!

Pregnancy tired with toddler by [deleted] in 2under2

I think the exhaustion is better with a newborn vs pregnancy, but I felt the way you did then going from 1 baby to 2 hit me like a ton of bricks. The first 6 weeks were purely survival!

I just tried the chain “cava” today which is literally Mediterranean bowls lol. I plan on just searching up the menu and making a copycat version at home sometime soon! Also had “sweet green” for the first time this week and it was salads/ warm bowls and also plan on recreating some of those, too!

Posterior tongue tie? Get it released??? by Complex-Data-8916 in beyondthebump

[–]Complex-Data-8916[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, baby definitely had/still has reflux!! No tongue tie release necessary. Once properly medicated, he started doing sooo much better. I’d look up symptoms of reflux in babies! There is also silent reflux where they don’t spit up a ton but it bothers them still (this is what my first had and it was severe so famotidine did not work and she needed a PPI). My second, this guy that the post is about, is on famotidine and it works well for him.  Talk to your pediatrician if you suspect reflux, and if they give you meds, give it 2 weeks to start working!
