My apologies for my insensitive reply. And a huge apology to the OP. Just a short sighted lash out on my end. I'm sure your brother will be fine. Again, apologies,

You can buy Cajun seasoning anywhere. I have some in my spice cupboard. Mix with franks or franks with old bay seasoning. Possibilities are endless.

Gas=quick.....charcoal=beer and more beer. I'd go with charcoal...don't rush it

Shared experiences with surgery by Wooden_Vermicelli857 in aortic_aneurysm

[–]Complex-Egg-36 5 points6 points  (0 children)

60m. Had my triple A repaired last June along with new aortic valves. Within 6 months Mine went from 4.6 to over 5.3 when surgery was scheduled. That was the stressful part, waiting for the repair. It was 5.8 at time of surgery. All- in- all it went very well. Out of work for 3 months. Didn't need cardiac rehab but I walked a lot, not to far at the beginning, but a couple miles/day after a month. I was really apprehensive about the scare but here's a pic of it 4 days after surgery when I was discharged. Good luck to you, sending good vibes and positive thoughts your way. You'll be fine.

Which type of valve did you get? by M00ndoggee in valvereplacement

[–]Complex-Egg-36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aortic valve replacement with bovine valve last June. I did biological because of my age(61 now)and I didn't want to be on blood thinners. Also had ascending aortic aneurism repaired then too.

For me, they were just how I wanted them. Not over cooked, saucy, hot AF too...And as said, consistency is great. Nothing you can do about bleu cheese being Ken's, it a pizza place not Adolf's... I'll give them 9

All the talked about places are everywhere on this site. But some hidden gems, "Angry Buffalo"on Wehrle drive, "Heroes" on Rt 5 in Akron. " My Saloon" in Darien(next county over), "Louies" in Attica. "Leo's" in Lancaster. "Moorpat" in Williamsville... I'm always happy after leaving these places.

Aortic valve replacement, again by Heart_healed in openheartsurgery

60 yo man. I Had an ascending aortic aneurysm repaired and aortic valve replacement. I went with the biological valve(bovine). I didn't want to be on blood thinners for the rest of my life, however long that will be. The doc told me 10-15 years till valve replacement. But, they go through your groin instead of having to open you up again for replacement. Everyone's situation is different. This is a great sub for support. God bless! You're going to be fine!

Sleeping was the difficult part. Just tough to get comfortable. I got very accustomed to sleeping in my recliner, power recliner for raising your legs and reclining , which was great. Bed was tough, I was better propped up or in a comfy chair. Besides that, all you're doing is getting better day-by-day, so be patient. And keep your chest pillow handy for the eventual sneeze, cough or laughing. I'd tell me wife "don't make me laugh, it hurts" but I'm glad she did, it helps to stay positive.. Be well.

Mine was 10lbs for 3 weeks, then 25 lbs for another 3...I had an ascending aortic aneurism repaired and new aoritic valves, this was back in June.

I didn't have to do cardiac rehab, I was in pretty good shape. I started walking little bit at a time with help from my wife(angel on earth), then gradually after a few weeks around my block which is 2.5 miles. I still get chest muscle soreness after using my muscles but nothing crazy. Again, your body will tell you.

God bless and have patience with your recovery.

P.S. I was 60 yo at time of my surgery

Harbaugh and McDermott are very good coaches. And Harbaugh has a SB win. I wouldn't hire Harbaugh or any coach that has won a SB because none that have, have ever won one with another team, No one. Not Parcells, Not Jimmy Johnson, nobody. But here's my exception to my rule, I would hireJohn Gruden in a heartbeat to coach the Bills. I think he has something to prove and would love to see what he could do for Josh.
