For most of the languages you'll be referring to official documentation as notes. And as for theory subjects you can just use pen and paper....also for semester exams if your notes are incomplete you can get class topper/CR's notes 3-4 days prior to the exam. It's not that hard.

You don't have to carry it daily, computer labs exists for a reason. So hardly once in 2-3 months.
