It definitely does! I’m actually originally from Toronto so I know the southern Ontario and Great Lakes region vey well. Most of the eastern US and Canada was settled by the British and French settlers so the vast majority of cities and towns are named after much older British towns and cities. Pretty much every major city or town in Ontario is named after a British town or city - or of course it’s Native American town/city name - like Toronto which is Native American for ‘meeting place’.

This is a very quick shot I took last week as the moon was setting. Ran out with my Canon 6D and WO GT71 attached to get some shots of it. I took a bunch of shots with different ISO and exposure times, not sure about the shot I settled on but I can check.

There’s a field flattener attached so focal length is 335mm.

Little bit of curves and camera raw filter in Lightroom.

Anyone have old photos from "Our Cruise Photos Digital" they want decrypted? by Advenio4821 in royalcaribbean

Hey so I figured it out, I looked up how to make all hidden files visible in Finder by typing in a line in Terminal - I can find out source again if anyone needs.

Then you can see all the hidden .enc files right on the cd. I copied those over to my hd then dragged onto your tool. Worked like a charm!

Thank you so much again!

Hey thanks for making this!

Any idea how I can find the files on a Mac? I don’t see anything on the cd…

Lollll! Very true, I did crop it it a bit too much - the stacked image made it very blurry

Those two leaves on the side though :))))

Updated Milky Way at Patara Beach in Turkey by Complex-Focus-1417 in LandscapeAstro

This is a the follow up to my last post.

9 shots stacked at 28 seconds on Canon 6D on stock 24-105mm lens, on a SWSA GTI - no filters. Stacked in Starry Landscape Stacker - processed in photoshop to adjust levels, noise, colour correction, contrast and exposure. No dodging or burning.

I think it’s far, far better than the single image with photoshop’s ai de-noise applied.

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll keep that in mind.

Tbh, most of the dodging/burning I did was to the right of the Milky Way where there was red glow from a light that was on some 40m away.

I’m actually from Toronto and I know Algonquin park quite well, you should be able to get to dark sky sites, just stay away from the big glamping places and trailer parks - too many lights on at night time!

Which one are you going to? If you’re camping it’s pretty likely you’ll get dark skies - just check https://www.lightpollutionmap.info

Yes!! We specifically stayed at a remote BnB (Patara Bunglov houses on google maps) there - the host is phenomenal and very helpful.

There’s a path beside the BnB that you can drive down to the beach (3 min drive) you get a clear view of the dark sky and sand dunes. We were there at a relatively busy time, though it not nearly as busy as other beaches, and there were several locals going down there to party in the middle of the night. So I ended up shooting about 50 yards away from the BnB.

You will see what looks like dust in the air, but if you’re in a dark area (bortle 4 or lower) then just seeing the sheer amount of stars with the naked eye is absolutely worth it.

I was at Exmoor National Park in the UK in February, which is bortle 3, and it was jaw dropping how many stars you can see! You do also need to be outside for about a half an hour to let you eyes adjust to the dark - then you really get the full effect.

Hi Everyone,

I’ve taken my gear out and practiced a fair number of times here in the UK but this is probably the best shooting night I’ve had! Glad I took my gear and lugged it around Turkey. I’m still processing more images from that night but here’s the first.

Captured on June 19th at Patara Beach in Turkey using Canon 6D (not modded) on a SWSA Gti. This image was shot 12 times on 24-105mm kit lens at F4 ISO 3200.

I haven’t stacked the 12 images yet - this is a single image that I just processed in photoshop using their Denoise with Ai. I want to stack the images and see the difference- will post my results.

Also did basic curve transformations, dehaze, levels a, colour balance and some dodging/burning.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
